“Twenty years ago, I founded Beth Morrison Projects with $200 in the bank, a dream of living in New York, and a belief that a new generation of composers and librettists would help me to create a new kind of opera....This year, two operas commissioned and developed by BMP were nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Opera Recording. Both were written by young women creating their very first operas — artists we supported from the earliest stages of their journeys. That has always been the heart of BMP’s mission: believing in visionary artists before the rest of the world catches up.” (Beth Morrison.)
