“In Acts 2:42-47, we are called to fellowship and break bread together. Through community we see the mission of the gospel go forward and we are able to model the love of Christ to the world around us. When we are together, we are better than when we are alone. There is strength in numbers and God’s light shines more powerfully together! We get to see this lived out through our City Group.

We ended the summer with family Olympics at the park. A little friendly competition mixed with a lot of fun and laughter. Everyone got a chance to partake in the water balloon relay games- the kiddos had a blast and we hope to make it a summer tradition for our families each year! We love doing life with our city group to live out the Bible’s call of community and fellowship with other believers.” —Jessica

‼️Jesus saving us is NOT the end ‼️It is just the beginning. It is the start of your life in following Jesus, growing in Jesus…it is the beginning of the life of discipleship.

Providence, we are focusing on discipleship in this next season. 👉🏽👉🏽God’s call on your life is to look MORE like Him.👈👈 Our new life in Christ shouldn’t result in our lives looking pretty much the same with the addition of reading our Bibles sprinkled in there. No. We are going to commit to deeply knowing Jesus and being deeply developed to look more like Jesus in our daily lives. 🕊️

This is part of the new, clarified vision God has given us for our church family. This year, would you pray and ask God to refine you in every part of your life? God wants us to look more like him. Let’s allow him to do that work! by @providenceomaha

When people call you out for your sin, do you immediately respond with, “Thank you”? 🙈🙊👀

Being grateful for someone calling out sin isn’t normally our default, but what if it was? What if we had a posture of JOY to be shaped and formed more into Christ’s likeness by our brothers and sisters? They care about us and love us, and they WANT us to grow. Would we take any sort of correction with JOY as we see it push us to be more like Christ.

Advent Guide creation underway 👨‍💻📝🔜

This is our church’s 5th year creating an Advent guide. 🙌 It is a devotional made up of various articles written by members in our church to lead you through the season of Advent.

Advent is the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas where we long for Christ. We participate in the Advent season by remembering, longing, and believing that Jesus wants to come for us.

Men and women in our church will be writing articles over the next two weeks, so please keep them in your prayers as they thoughtfully create articles to lead our church through the Advent season! We are so thankful for their willingness to use their gifts for our church body. Stay tuned for when you’re able to pick up a finished guide! 👀 by @providenceomaha

Worship Night last night >>>

SO GOOD!! @jake_sonofpeter_sonofgod and @pc3omaha updated us on LOTS of answered prayers with college students (the stories of God moving were so encouraging!) as well as invited us to pray into specific areas of the college ministry.

We are praising God His his glorious plan and how He is moving! 🎉🎉🙌

“We have the spirit of God inside of us helping us walk out the will of God in our lives.” AMEN and AMEN and AMEN! 🙌

What we have today is greater than what the Israelites had. We have the spirit of God WITH us. Providence, how amazing is that?! The spirit of God is leading us and guiding us all because of Jesus fulfilling covenant obedience on our behalf.

Have you ever wondered why Moses threw down and broke the 10 Commandments? We can wonder, was he just angry…? Like, was it a fit of anger that he had? 🤔💭

Remember, the 10 Commandments are a summary of the stipulations of covenant agreement. Moses was symbolizing the covenant was over. They were no longer in convent with God.

And YET God graciously rewrites the covenant. He graciously chooses to be back in relationship with His people.

So, Moses throwing down the 10 commandments isn’t a random footnote. It’s showing how the Israelites no longer received the covenant promises of God, highlighting the severity of their sin and also the grace of God to rewrite the covenant with them.

“Our City Group held a Backyard Worship Night to cap off our summer schedule. We have so many talented musicians in the group that organized, played, and led us in worship. We were able to hear about a group member’s upcoming vision trip overseas and another member’s serious health condition and pray over both of them. It was just an amazing night of everyone (including our kids!) coming together and worshipping the Lord and thanking Him for His goodness!”

🥺😭♥️ Ugh, we love this so much! So fun to see how the 6:2 City Group is using the God-given talents of its members and teaching the next generation to love and serve the Lord in community!! Thanks for this sweet story, @buildingbriges by @providenceomaha
