Join us on Sunday, 10/18, at 2pm for the first monthly contemplative nature walk at Winding Waters Natural Area! We will have a few contemplative practices over the course of the walk. Immersing ourselves in our natural environment, we will also touch on the importance of the natural area for our local wildlife. Growing deeper in our understanding as created beings among creation.

This past Sunday we celebrated Prov’s 11th birthday! In typical Prov fashion, we took time to listen and share stories of the impact Prov has had on our lives, and these three women shared beautifully and we’re so grateful! taken in Providencia WPB by @providenciawpb

As part of the liturgical calendar, September 1st begins the Season of Creation, a time when the church comes together to pray and take action toward care for our environment and God’s creation. See some of the events happening this month below:

Tarpon Cove Intercoastal Cleanup
Friday, September 18 | 9 AM to 12 PM | Monceaux Park
The event is a continuation of our investment into our beautiful water way, the Lake Worth Lagoon (the Intra-costal). We will primarily focus on trash and marine debris removal at Monceaux Park, specifically within and around the two mangrove planters along the shoreline. If time and conditions allow, we will also provide volunteers with a boat ride to one of the four Tarpon Cove restoration islands to collect marine debris. Link to sign up in bio

Lake Worth Beach Clean Up & Hang
Saturday, September 26 | 9 AM to 12 PM | Lake Worth Beach Park
In this Season of Creation combing our beaches for trash and debris is an easy & fun way to put action to our words. Please join us in caring for creation by cleaning the beach, afterwards hang out and go for a swim! by @providenciawpb

As we have mentioned a few times on Sunday mornings, the elders have nominated Gail Cooney and Kate Hartley to join the session. We will be holding a family meeting on this sunday, September 13th, following our worship service to vote on their nomination. If you haven’t had a chance to get to know these two wonderful ladies, we want to encourage you to take some time before our family meeting to meet them and hear their stories. Also please reach out to Keith, Sarah Claire, or Josh if you have any questions or concerns! by @providenciawpb

Story Groups are returning in September! Mark you calendar for Wednesday, 9/02 at 6:30p.m. for orientation. If you have already been to an orientation and participated in Story Group previously, you do not need to come again. However, if you have been a part of Story Group before and are interested in co-leading or shadowing a leader, please let us know! We look forward to another meaningful semester of listening, connecting, and deepening our experience of community, ourselves, and our God.

Today as we wrapped up our series on Reimagining Theology, @sarahclaire led us in a confession based on the Lord’s prayer. We invite you to take a moment and read through the slides and let your imagination expand as you see this prayer written in new words.

Our Father,
Not just my Father... Our Father... our Creator our God.
The One who is closer than our breath, yet beyond all we can see or understand.

Holy is your name.
Sacred.
Beautiful.
May our lives reflect your goodness.

May your Kingdom come.
May your dream for the world become more real among us.
May love overcome fear, justice overcome oppression, peace overcome violence,
and may your way become our way, here on earth as it already is in heaven.

Give us today what we need.
Teach us to trust that today’s grace is enough for today.
Open our hands to receive your gifts and to share them generously with others.

Forgive us.
For the ways fear has become selfishness.
For the ways shame has become hiding.
For the ways our wounds have become wounds we pass on.
Heal what is broken within us,
and give us the courage to extend that same mercy to others.

Lead us away from the paths that pull us from love.
Deliver us from the evil that lives within us and around us the fear, violence, greed, hatred, and despair that diminish your image in ourselves and one another.

For yours is the kingdom... the love, the power,
and the beauty that has no end.
Amen.
Let it be so.
