Look at all those eggs! This is ONE python nest from a Reticulated Python in Puerto Rico. This is exactly why an invasive species can expand it's population so fast! They have so many eggs! @proyectoreticpr On this day we removed an entire generation of these invasive pythons from Puerto Rico! Finding this nest was extremely difficult, but digging it out was even harder! It took 5 people several hours of digging and sawing to finally remove all of the snakes and the eggs! It would have been impossible for me to accomplish this by myself, this could only be successfully accomplished with collaboration and teamwork. Every single one of these invasive pythons that we remove is a victory for Puerto Rico. Pythons are predators which means they eat other animals to survive. When we remove and euthanize a python, I am focused on the animal lives that we save from being eaten by the invasive snake. Protecting native wildlife is my greatest passion! . This would not have been possible without the help of the incredible team Project Retic. Love, support, and teamwork. I love you all and thank you for the support ❤️ . #snake #wildlife #puertorico #python #nest by @proyectoreticpr
Look at this python nest we removed from Puerto Rico! If you look at the bottom left corner you can see a baby Reticulated Python crawling out. @proyectoreticpr On this day we removed an entire generation of these invasive pythons from Puerto Rico!
Más info ➡️ Proyectos Retic by @proyectoreticpr
NEW RECORD! @proyectoreticpr and I captured the longest live captured Reticulated Python ever caught in Puerto Rico! This incredible giant measured 18'4" making it the New Official live capture Record for Puerto Rico! Reticulated Pythons are an invasive species in Puerto Rico the same way that Burmese Pythons are an invasive species in Florida. I have been working extremely hard in Puerto Rico learning to understand how this species behaves and they are shockingly different from Burmese. This python was spotted strangling a pet cat behind a house and was scared off down the mountain. It took all my tracking skills and 20 minutes of searching to find this snake down in the jungle. Removing this invasive apex predator is one more step towards restoring the delicate balance of the ecosystem out here in Puerto Rico and I am proud to be a part of this incredible conservation work! The full length capture video is out on my YT channel, link is in my bio! Thank you all for the support 🙏 ❤️ Live your dreams and follow your passion 🤙✌️❤️ . #python #snake #wildlife #puertorico #record by @proyectoreticpr
