When I started on a style reboot I knew I would be doing things differently, but I had no idea how my perspective would change so much. After all, I’m a Millennial. Today I, and my entire family, were on PBS news hour. We had the privilege of having Judy Woodruff in our home to discuss the American Dream. They included stories from my past, old pictures and incredible amount of love. We are a tight knit crew and I hope that comes through.

But the main takeaway I want people to hear is that despite the amount of privilege and luck my family has had, and the amount of hard work we have done, it should not be this hard to live in America. It should not be a struggle to work for a living, buy a home, get an education, raise a family, be healthy, put food on the table and still have some money leftover for not only emergencies but fun no matter where you’re from or what you look like. And every day of my life that gets harder to do.

It has not always been like this. My grandfather didn’t even graduate high school and was able to give my mother and his family a good life on a job at Bethlehem Steel with a pension. My dad who built his home, gave us a great middle income life on a public school teacher salary. Now as white collar professionals, my family is struggling. The erosion of quality of life in America is real.

There are a lot of reasons for that, but as my husband pointed out we as a society need to make choices that support the world and country we want. And then we need to act quickly on those decisions. We can do that if we are community minded and work together. Our children’s future depends on it.

Went to a local estate sale today and like blacked out. SO much stuff. It was a dig scenario, with quite a few broken items, but I found some diamonds in the rough. My queen was a girl after my own heart and clearly loved to host and decorate. It made me sad seeing so many family mementos, children’s drawings, baby shoes, among other things, but it was clearly a life full of love and well lived. Locals will spy Hess’s and Orr’s boxes among the many vintage holiday items. There’s an entire bag of vintage lights with reflectors on too. And a full box of 60s glassware. Altogether $40. Two hours well spent. 🏷️ by @prpeep

Last night I went to Easton for its first ever light festival. I have been wanting to go to the one in Binghamton, NY for years and was just never able to get there, so I was thrilled when I saw this new art show pop up. Weather was perfect. Pottery in my parents’ house Part 1. I grew up with parents who instilled a strong admiration and respect for the arts in me. My mother has collected pottery for as long as I can remember. Many trips, art shows and festivals meant picking up another piece. Most of it hails from the East coast, but there are a few horsehair pieces from a trip out West.
