Peonies have a way of stealing the scene. Ruffled coral blooms mingle with Pink Floyd roses and rich purple dahlias for a little drama and a lot of texture. My kind of fall color.

Sympathy flowers don’t have to be sad.

They can be abundant, expressive, and full of life—a celebration of someone remembered rather than simply a symbol of loss.

White lilies and Bells of Ireland arranged with movement and a little wildness, feel especially beautiful for the occasion. Flowers can bring comfort, but they can also bring beauty, warmth, and a reminder that even in moments of grief, life continues to bloom.

A little sunshine for tonight’s event. Blue skies and sunshine brought indoors.

These beauties were ready for their moment at Electric Lemon—buttery yellow roses, dahlias and craspedia layered into clouds of powder-blue hydrangea with delicate dancing orchids.

Fresh, happy, and proof that sophisticated flowers don’t always have to take themselves so seriously.

For last night’s event at the Mandarin Oriental, we stepped away from the expected autumn palette and leaned into saturated ruby, garnet, plum, magenta and amethyst, grounded with deep greens and touches of warm gold.

Rich, layered and luxurious—fall flowers without a single cliché in sight.

Layering my client’s pied-à-terre with gorgeous fall flowers for tonight’s cocktail party—but leaving the predictable autumn palette behind.

Instead of the expected oranges and browns, I wanted the flowers to feel like an extension of her incredible art collection: nuanced color, unexpected combinations, rich texture, and a little tension. Coral, dusty rose, soft blue, deep berry, sculptural greens—autumn interpreted rather than announced.

For me, the best flowers don’t simply decorate a room. They enter into a conversation with everything already there.

Tonight, the art, the interiors, and the flowers all get to mingle.

One last look before these arrangements left the workroom: blue hydrangeas, deep red dahlias and Freedom roses, white roses and dahlias, & all the little details that bring a room to life at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel last night.

This time of year is all about the transition—not quite ready to let go of summer, but beginning to welcome the richer textures and deeper tones of autumn.

For my clients’ home, I’m layering seasonal flowers with warm, unexpected color, movement, and texture—letting the last notes of summer mingle with the first hints of fall.

Because the best seasonal arrangements don’t announce the change all at once. They let it unfold, one beautiful layer at a time.

80 years deserves a celebration as beautiful as the life being celebrated.

Last night at the Mandarin Oriental, we had the pleasure of creating this intimate 80th birthday dinner for our clients—layers of rich jewel-toned flowers, glowing candlelight, and that incredible New York City view as the backdrop.

A little glimpse into my collecting obsession.

I’ve always loved English stick and spatterware and spongeware—the more mismatched, imperfect and collected over time, the better. There’s something about all those hand-painted patterns, colors and slightly wonky details that makes a cupboard feel alive.

And apparently my inability to throw things away extends to flowers. When a beautiful flower head breaks off, I just can’t toss it. Into a favorite bowl it goes, floating in a little water for a few more days of life.

Old pottery, broken blooms and beautiful imperfections. My kind of still life.
