So excited to finally share this — my new work “Viventium” premieres 16 April in Paris 💫

This is my first piece “made in Paris” since moving back here after 10 years in Australia, which makes it feel extra special. I’ve been working with the talented dancers of the @cnsmdp and my long-time collaborator, composer Chiara Costanza aka @chiarakickdrum — the alchemy between all has been magic ✨

VIVENTIUM explores biophilia — our deep, instinctive love for and connection to the living world. Meaning “of living beings,” it imagines a dynamic field where human, animal and plant forms coexist and sense together ⚡

Creating this work has been a joy for so many reasons. Set in the heart of La Villette, the conservatoire is a place that produced artists like Ravel, Debussy, and Boulez…to name a few. To work in a space so deeply dedicated to music, dance and creation has been inspiring. Collaborating with such a vibrant new generation of dancers has been incredibly exciting 🔥✨

Very Parisian update: tickets sold out the day the box office opened… but where there’s a will, there’s a way! ❤️

👉 L’École ouverte est un temps de portes ouvertes permettant de découvrir le travail des étudiant·es de la Direction des études chorégraphiques à travers des cours publics. C’est aussi l’occasion, pour les étudiant·es, de monter sur scène lors de trois soirées dédiées au répertoire et aux créations chorégraphiques.

Au programme : un extrait du Concerto pour piano n°3 de Rachmaninov (chorégraphie d’Uwe Scholz), une création d’Amala Dianor, ainsi que Viventium de Prue Lang.

In my mind, she is a true heroine of the dance world! 🔥

As many of you know, I deeply value long and meaningful collaborative relationships, and this one has been especially precious. Tara is not only an extraordinary artist, but an exceptional collaborator and inspiring human. It’s a joy to work with someone who holds such strength and power, while remaining profoundly sensitive and nuanced. Her artistry makes the very ‘act of dancing’ feel compelling and alive.

I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Tara across many works: POESIS, PROJECT F, Yoni, Influunt, Forum, Celestia, Profero and Poema.

Tara, I’ve watched you dive into the Octopus (& Therputty!) practice with commitment and curiosity. Being in that process with you — exploring, experimenting, and growing together — has been a privilege. Watching you expand in so many directions — in the studio and on stage — has been magic! ✨
I feel so grateful to work with you. THANK YOU!!❤️

Pour notre stage de la Toussaint, je suis très heureuse de vous retrouver et de partager ces 4 journées aux côtés de Prue Lang.

Je vous accompagnerai chaque jour pour les cours de danse classique, tandis que Prue proposera des ateliers autour des Forsythe Improvisation Technologies.

Danseuse et chorégraphe, interprète privilégiée de William Forsythe pendant de nombreuses années, Prue Lang enseigne aujourd’hui dans de nombreuses écoles et institutions de renom à travers le monde, parmi lesquelles P.A.R.T.S. à Bruxelles, l’Australian Ballet School, la Palucca Hochschule ou encore le CNSMDP, pour lequel elle vient également de signer une chorégraphie.

Australian-born, she is now based in Paris. Amazing full-circle moment tonight watching the FORSYTHE program by Ballet @operadurhin in Paris💫

I first saw Enemy as a young dancer when Ballett Frankfurt came to Adelaide in 1994 with Limb’s Theorem. I was completely blown away! That experience ignited a passion that led me to Europe, where years later I had the privilege of dancing and choreographing with the legendary Ballett Frankfurt - a radical laboratory for dance experimentation and thinking⚡

Tonight, seeing Trio, Quintett, and Enemy performed by a new generation of dancers with such joy and conviction felt deeply meaningful. To experience the work first as an audience member, then as a performer, and now again years later, is a special journey.

It was such a pleasure to see @william_forsythe_ , @thierrypostingstuff, @ayman_harper & Thomas McManus there, and to be reminded of my fierce Frankfurt colleagues (y’all still in my mind 🥰) Bravo to @brunoobouche and the amazing dancers of Ballet @operadurhin for this stellar evening 👏✨✨✨
