When I was in the UK in May, visiting family, we went to the @prideauxwalledgarden
It’s an absolutely wonderful garden, cafe, shop and florist with a unique view of Padstow. These handcoloured linocuts are just now finished. Seven in the edition as I ran out of paper and smudged one 😑

Three blocks ; 1 key block, 2 reduction blocks
11 colours and MANY frustrating moments.

They’re drying for a few days before I have a good look at them. I’ve had the key block cut since 2022 and have successfully procrastinated (finally buying @takachpress small Brayers and sorting out ink colours and carving the two reduction blocks etc, etc.) for 4 years!!! Sheesh!!! 🙄 by @prycekathryn

My big paintings are hanging at the Okotoks Rec centre until August. The Okotoks Art Gallery did a wonderful job hanging them. They’re there until August.

A huge thank you to all of you who came out to Okotoks to support the artists who opened their studios so you could see their work and chat about their process and inspiration. Thank you so much to the organizers who promoted the @calgaryartistsstudiotour.. they did an amazing job. A personal thank you to those of you who visited @cleirenghislaine and @alisonjohncoxartist at my home studio. Thank you to those who purchased etchings and paintings from the three of us. It was a fun weekend and we loved chatting and eating chocolates with you all. ❤️ by @prycekathryn

It’s finally hung. The first finished panel (on far left) hung in the Leighton Art Centre for their Roots show. During that time I finished the other 2 panels. Miraculously they look okay together 😊 by @prycekathryn

Join us in giving a warm welcome to Kathryn Pryce!👋 This is @prycekathryn’s first year on the Calgary Artists Studio Tour, and we’re thrilled to have her share her amazing work with us!

Kathryn is a painter/printmaker based in Okotoks. Her oil paintings are high realism and reflect on encounters in her natural surroundings, often observed while walking her dogs or exploring the beautiful areas in the foothills. Kathryn also creates etchings, linocuts and woodcuts in her home based printmaking studio. Her prints are narrative with inspiration coming from the places she’s travelled to and the people and their pets who cross her path. She enjoys images that feel like there’s a story to share. Kathryn’s work is in Canadian and international collections and her work has appeared in various art magazines.
