I took 664 photos yesterday, picked out 157 favourites, then fell asleep while editing. It felt so blissful.

I love this life, no social anxiety, no overthinking, no wondering what others think.
I adore this rhythm, going out to shoot, meeting people, calling friends when I feel like sharing, and falling asleep while editing photos afterwards.

I know I’ll look back on that year someday, out in an unassuming little English town with a Bortle 5.2 sky, shooting meteors on an equivalent 75mm prime lens.

Humans are complicated, yet also uncomplicated at heart.

I know I’ll hold onto every memory: the flickering street lamp by the entrance; the cab driver’s confused question, asking what such a big group of us were up to; the thick dorm mat my friend pulled out for us to lie on; the shout of delight from the lad beside me each time a meteor streaked across the sky; the pure joy of lying flat on the ground, staring up at the sea of stars; the split second of stunned silence when I captured a blazing fireball; the stranger who thanked us for letting him tag along to watch the shooting stars; my friend saying he’d never have dragged himself out alone, and only came because I wanted to go; the blue hour, waiting for a taxi to take us home as the sky paled into dawn.

Isn’t it true? I think I love photography for far more than just chasing validation from others. I think I edit photos and master post-processing not merely to win compliments.

What I truly love is the raw, unfiltered truth captured by the camera. It’s having tangible proof of every moment of joy. It’s that unadulterated state of mind, free from overthinking social etiquette, how to act around others, and all the endless second-guessing.
