POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Back in July, @pshaf16 and I spent a week traveling around the coast of Lake Superior making a film about the incredible work of the WisCorps Crews and the beautiful habitats they are working to conserve. The entire week, I was gobsmacked by the beauty in front of me that unfolded at every turn. Paige and I both kept asking each other, “Who WOULDN”T want to protect THIS?”

Several crew members kept echoing the same story from a woman name Candy who they had met at Isle Royale earlier in the summer. When asked how to get people to care about nature and conserving it, Candy said “Share your joy.”

That simple phrase stuck with Paige and I and helped inspire the name of the film - “Choose Joy.”

“Choose Joy” premieres at @lacrosseadventurefilms this weekend. This film was born purely out of a love for the natural world, the joy it brings and in celebration of the people who are working to protect it.

when I felt the first ray of spring sunlight, it all came back to me.

An ode to my future pancakes, may I never take you for granted. 🥞🥞🥞🥞

Remind me that true quality is worth the wait, that patience brings the best flavors. Remind me of the many hands that nurture the harvest and the trees that reciprocate. Urge me to give back, to stay grounded, to honor this gift by measuring with care—treating each pancake as a small celebration.

Let me revel in gratitude, forever tied to this moment in the woods, where my closest friend and I felt the Earth’s grateful heart in the sway of the maples. taken in Door County by @pshaf16
