The End of an Era, and the Beginning of Another!

My journey in Epe has been filled with stories I never expected. If someone had told me I'd be moving there to pastor a church, I would’ve called it a lie. But ministry is a lot like the military, you go where you’re called.

I still remember my first visit to Epe with Pastor Mavis, just going to preach. I thought, “Let me stay a while and see what the place feels like.” I stayed through Sunday and decided to worship with some of our team there. They’d been streaming sermons every Sunday, but for some reason, things didn’t work out that day, and they asked me to preach. I thought it was a joke, but after that message, something felt right. I just couldn’t leave Epe, and, honestly, I didn’t fully understand why. A few weeks later, Pastor Mavis called and told me to stay, and that’s how it all began.

When we needed more space, we talked to our landlord, and she agreed to let us expand. We started building, were almost done, then she changed her mind and asked us to remove everything. So, we had to start looking for a new venue, a journey of faith indeed! People told me it would be impossible to find a place because the area is predominantly Muslim, and they wouldn’t lease to a church. But God made a way. An Alhaji leased us his land at an unbelievable price, and when questioned about renting to a church, he stood his ground.

God truly gave us victory, and the people kept coming, all by His grace. I remember reading a book by Dag Heward-Mills where he spoke about titling sermons in ways that capture people’s interest. From there, the Holy Spirit began giving me sermon ideas; I’d jot them down and teach what I felt the people needed at the time, pulling from my pastor’s teachings, scripture, and God's guidance. We had unforgettable sermons, and God brought media people alongside who understood and could convey the message clearly.

If you sleep or doze off while praying, this is your final solution!

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint!

I pray you fall in love with prayer indeed!

Prayer, prayer, prayer!!! Kaii. The power of prayer can not be over emphasised!

See. If there is one thing I know, prayer truly works! What prayer does for you is not only that it breeds intimacy between you and God, it helps you have ability above temptation

Jesus didn't just overcome Satan's temptation like that, atleast he fasted 40 days and 40 night (definitely with prayer) His spirit man surely was more incharge, no wonder it was easy to overcome Satan! I am sure the other times Satan came to tempt Him, he couldn't get Him because He was a man of prayer! My lord and master oooo. So why won't I pray!

I have been reading the book of Kings and omoo, you see those two uncles called Elijah and Elisha... ahaaaaa. God! I rest my case!

Like my pastor said tonight, "Anybody without a prayer life has no destiny with God!

Prayer works! Use it!

God has prepared a glorious life for us, but sustaining it requires capacity. 🔥

In this sermon excerpt, our Pastor reminds us that we must grow in wisdom, strength, and spiritual maturity to carry all that God has entrusted to us.

Don’t just desire the glory—build the capacity to sustain it. 🙌🏽 by @pstunique

Shame is what is stopping you from taking action. It is not fear of failure but you are just thinking about the shame that comes with people seeing you fail!

Your talent may get you into the room.

But your character determines whether people will trust you when you get there.
