American citizen in Norway reporting live:

I watched the World Cup and officially retired from the NFL. European football is now the only sport that matters.

This morning I woke up craving pine needles for breakfast, chased it with a few glasses of fjord water, and felt spiritually prepared for brunost, lefse, and an open-faced sandwich that looked like it had a very important government job.

I will not be embracing Janteloven anytime soon, because I’ll be carrying my battle ax proudly on my new wooden ship with my horned helmet and a pint of homemade ale screaming Heia Norge!.

At this point, I’m basically an unofficial Norwegian citizen — and Norway is my team for life.

Nearly a year ago, we visited the Houy Fay Tribe in Laos after my brother, Bounhthan, called to tell me their village’s water source had dried up. Together with the Elders and the community, we built a new gravity-flow water system—and I’ll never forget the moment clean water first reached the village.

Now, we are excited to be heading back to reconnect with our brothers and sisters, check in on the community, and see how the water system is serving them.

This trip also marks the start of another important project where we will renovate a totally dilapidated school and bring them much needed water resources in a remote village a few hours from our other project

The first trip brought us together. I can’t wait to see everyone again and get started.

Equality of outcome sounds fair in theory, but it can’t be achieved when people contribute different amounts, take different risks, or make different choices.

When a system tries to force the same outcome regardless, it weakens or kills the incentive to innovate and work harder—and fuel resentment among people who feel they’re carrying more than their share. A fair society should make opportunity accessible, reward effort and creativity, and support people in need without pretending everyone will contribute equally.

there are no perfect systems, but if you could remove the fraud, waste and abuse of government. Have a transparent system where taxpayers can see where their money is being spent in real time, you would find there is enough taxable revenue to create a social safety net, abundant healthcare and improved infrastructure similar to what Norway is doing.

Most systems fail due to greed and corruption of the highest level.

From FanX in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago to checking in at @NYCC in New York!

We used to do this show, but it’s been 3years since we stepped away from the convention hustle. It was so good catching up with old friends in the business!

After almost 20 years in this industry, I have to admit, I still miss it. ❤️ The toy and collectibles business not only changed my life, it had also changed a lot since we started, but the magic is still there.

NYC is a FOODIE PARADISE.

One thing I love about New York City is how ridiculously diverse the food scene is. You can find flavors from all over the world, from quick street bites to little neighborhood spots serving the kind of food you keep thinking about long after you leave.

For this food adventure, I went back to some old favorites: fresh bagels, pizza, and my favorite pies. Nothing too fancy, just simple food done right. ❤️🥯🍕

Sometimes, you don’t need a fancy restaurant or a Michelin star to have a great food day. You just need good food, a big appetite, and a city that makes you want to try one more thing even when you’re already full.

🇸🇪📦 When Sweden sends you a taste of Norway! 🇳🇴

Thank you @swedishcandyland for sending me some of my Norwegian favorites… and finally letting me try the Smash Bar!

My Norwegian friends told me it tastes even better cold, so obviously I had to put it in the fridge. And yep, they were right!

And @vossglobal, you already know I needed you to cleanse my palate. 💦 At this point, I drink so much VOSS… when are we going to work together?! 😂
