Save the date for an exclusive evening at The Shulgin Farm on Thursday, November 5, 2026!

The @psychedelicwritersguild proudly presents “The State(s) of Psychedel*c Storytelling: Past, Present, and Future” - produced in partnership with Lucid News, The Shulgin Foundation, @psychedelicamericas, and more!

Join us during the second annual Global Psychedel*c Week (@globalpsyweek) from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM PT for a catered dinner, a storytelling panel, and curated community networking with live music. Attendees will also experience a rare tour of the Shulgin Farm and Lab led by Lucid News Executive Editor Annie Oak Harrison and Chief Science Officer Dr. Paul Daley. Our founder Jack Gorsline will host the core discussion panel.

Note: Capacity is strictly capped at a maximum of 50 attendees to keep the experience intimate.

📍 Location: 1483 Shulgin Rd, Lafayette, CA

🚗 Crucial Arrival Info: As you head north on Pleasant Hill Rd, you’ll crest a hill and start going downhill—slow way down and turn right onto Shulgin Rd (which is in the middle of a blind curve and is easy to miss!). If you reach the Taylor/Geary split, you’ve gone too far. Follow Shulgin Rd. to the end; you’ll see two home complexes. The Shulgin Farm is up the right driveway but park along Shulgin Rd. making space for other cars to pass on road.

⚠️ Parking: There are only 23 parking spots available, meaning utilizing a rideshare service is absolutely necessary for this event’s success.

🎟️ Head to Psychedel*cWritersGuild.Net and subscribe to The PWG’s newsletter for official ticket drop info! taken in Lafayette, California by @psyca.community

Psychedelics and Climate Action — on movements, symbols and collapse.

Extinction Rebellion is an international movement whose members use non-violent civil disobedience to pressure governments into acting on climate change and mass extinction.

In 2019 @dezeen wrote that "the Extinction Rebellion logo is created by a designer who wishes to remain anonymous, communicating only through the Extinction Symbol website. It is a stylised hourglass inside a circle that represents the planet, symbolising time running out."

@extinctionrebellion was designed to the last detail, the actions included — remember that pink boat in Oxford Circus? It put climate on front pages that had ignored it for a decade.

This session is the one closest to our hearts. It asks what psychedelic experience contributes to that kind of work: whether a shift in a person's relationship to the living world translates into the collective courage, cultural change and long endurance that environmental activism actually demands.

Marissa's project @psyca.community asks what psychedelics can do for climate consciousness. @psychedelicsdesign asks what that felt sense of belonging to nature does to the people designing the world we live in.

Founded by the creative brains behind Extinction Rebellion, Absurd Intelligence is a think tank for the shitshow, convening and catalysing an unrivalled network of world-class interdisciplinary experts, with the intention of driving much-needed narrative and movement leadership.

Marissa Feinberg @marissafeinberg — founder of Triple Bottom Why and Psychedelics for Climate Action @psyca.community

Clare Farrell @clarefarrell — strategist at Absurd Intelligence, fashion designer and lecturer, and a co-founder of @extinctionrebellion

This conversation is on Saturday 7 November, first thing: 8:15 AM PST on the West Coast, 4:15 PM GMT in London. Link in bio.

People with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and addiction are turning to ibogaine, a compound with roots in the Bwiti tradition in Gabon. We’re sitting down at the World Ayahuasca Forum to ask what that journey asks of us.

We’ll be joined by Dr. Martín Polanco, The Mission Within, who has spent 26 years and treated more than 5,000 patients, building the clinical container for ibogaine, and Simeon Schnapper, JLS Fund, Bwiti Initiate, who works on the infrastructure: how the flow of capital enables access to treatment and catalyzes policy.

We’ll cover its journey to clinical practice, what the neuroscience can and can’t yet claim, how the medicine has driven policy in the US, and how to reach this care, today and tomorrow. While Simeon has been initiated into Bwiti tradition, this panel doesn’t include someone speaking on behalf of Bwiti communities, and we want to name that rather than let it go unsaid. We’ll be pointing people toward Ancestral Heart, which leads biocultural stewardship and supports Blessings of the Forest and other Indigenous communities across Gabon, and ROOTS Fellowship Foundation.

Panel: Anthropology, Art & Spirituality / Section: Iboga to Ibogaine

This is the launch of a new climate action coalition made up of NYC climate orgs, hosted by @nyc2030district District with partners @getgridrewards, @solaronenyc, Logical Buildings, @resilientredhook, @powermarket.inc, @_soulfulsynergy_, @psyca.community, @cleanhealthyny, and @reti_center.

We began this paper with a simple discomfort: the phrase Psychedelic Renaissance names something real, but not the whole story.

It names the return of psychedelic research to Western universities, clinics, public debate, and healthcare. That return opened important doors, and the work made possible through them matters.

Still, the word renaissance does not fully acknowledge that, for many Indigenous nations, religious traditions, families, and communities, plant medicines continued to live within ceremony, memory, land, and relationships across generations.

The work of Afro-Brazilian quilombola thinker Nêgo Bispo gave us another image: confluence.

At a confluence, rivers meet carrying their own sources, histories, and sediments. Their encounter creates something new, but no river has to disappear or become the measure of the others.

For psychedelic studies, this means more than adding Indigenous perspectives after the questions and protocols have already been defined. It changes how research begins, whose authority counts, how consent is sustained, who shares authorship, and where resources and benefits return.

This is why we write about lived kinships and cosmic diplomacy: ways of approaching healing, knowledge, and governance through the relationships among people, communities, plants, ancestors, territories, and institutions.

Biomedical research is one of the rivers in this story. It has much to offer, and also much to learn. Confluence does not ask it to disappear or to absorb what it encounters, but to enter a wider relationship with enough humility to be changed by it.

The rivers are already meeting. Our task now is to build the relationships and institutions capable of caring for what emerges between them.

Our open-access article, From Renaissance to Confluence: A Call for Paradigm Shift in Psychedelic Studies, available in Psychedelics:
