It’s time for my notorious contextual post.

“The Beautiful Malaise” by Everything Is Psychedelic (Tony Bontana & psychedelic ensemble.) is out on Bandcamp (with CDs) and Ninaprotocol. Streaming services to follow at some point.

This is my No Wave album. I’ve been wanting to make a record with this energy for a very, very long time. I relate to the genre’s philosophy more than most things and I’ve been feeling this way generally about art/life for a very long time. Coincidentally, I think that dropping this release now is more appropriate than ever before.

Tony was the perfect collaborator for the execution of this direction. From his mindset to his influences to his personal stories - everything fell into place like it was by design.

If this album sounds like two creative dudes testing who will be the first to say “nah, hold on, we can’t do that”… Guess what? That’s exactly what happened.

I also want to shout out Tony’s work ethic. I keep joking around that working with me on an album is like an intricate obsessive “Kubrickian” experience, but this may have been the first time that joke became reality… Only a few artists would’ve pushed this album to completion if they were in the same situation as Tony.

As always - I need to stress that we cannot reach this level of greatness on our own. Thank you to everyone for their contributions!!! This is not possible without YOU.

“PSYCHE NAH 2020-2022: Remixed and Remastered” by PSYCHE NAH is out now on the @liveattheclinic Bandcamp page as a digital release. Sick ass cassettes designed by me and @nzanappa are available too. Streaming will follow soon.

A little background for those that don’t know:

Throughout the years 2020-2022, I released four self-titled EPs with NAPPYNAPPA under the name PSYCHE NAH.

A handful of these songs have, in my opinion, some of the wildest moments in my production so far. We were on some SHIT man. I’ll let you decide for yourself which moments I might be talking about as you listen to the record.

All songs have been carefully remixed and remastered by me so that new listeners and old fans alike have the most mind blowing (and consistent) experience.

Tremendous thank you to everyone who contributed to these TIMELESS bangers over the years. I think this might be the most random collection of musical sickos a @liveattheclinic release has had the pleasure of putting together so far. They are as follows:

“CACOPHONOUS DIGRESSIONS, A RECORD OF A MOMENT IN TIME” by @sweetmarysue and myself is out now everywhere!!!!!

Putting this album together was a very interesting process for me. Sue and I have been sending each other ideas since about November 2022 (i.e. shortly after I invited Sue to do a guest show on NTS). The initial drafts sounded broadly like a progression of Sue’s sound. However, around January 2023 I started picking up that Sue was actually much more interested in taking a proper left turn, and this is when the creation of the record became a full speed joyride with no seatbelts on.

The “forces, magnetic pull” theme was a happy accident. I made that flip in roughly 2019 and stumbled on it when I was organising my files in early 2023. I thought it perfectly matched Sue’s mood-swingy writing. Fast forward a few weeks and we had a fully fleshed out album-wide concept.

Although I think it’s best to leave the listeners with as much room for interpretation as possible, I would still like to suggest that you listen to this album as if you were experiencing a three-act play. The theatrical essence of this record is easily my favourite part about it. You see - I was a big fan of Prince Paul’s “A Prince Among Thieves” way back when I was just starting to deep dive into old Rap stuff.

When creating the sound of this project with Sue, I was thinking a lot about how my favourite short films make me feel. See, for example, Norman McLaren, Ed Emshwiller, Paul Sharits, Stan Brakhage or Toshio Matsumoto.

I think I left enough nuggets for the proper fans to dissect.

This month, three artists on three separate occasions told us that the sound system at LUFF is monstrous. One person told us she even discovered new frequencies in her own music at LUFF. Thank you Warsaw! Our second show with @avantart_official is now history. Thank you to the awesome staff and shout out to all the lovely people we met along the way. Just like last time - my stories are filled with wild show footage (or at least they were at some point this weekend), but the only permanent record of our brilliance is reserved for the memories of those who showed up. More announcements! A while back the good folks at @kiosk.radio asked me to put together a guest mix for the Transnational Music Lab series (or TMLAB for short). Over the years I kept seeing Kiosk Radio show love to some of our finest local London/UK talents, so how could I say no?

My episode will be available for broadcast next week.

For this one I put together some of my favourite discoveries of 2025 and possibly 2024. A lot of this stuff at some level inspired how I approached “The Beautiful Malaise” from a structural and stylistic perspective. Almost all of the tracks are random late hour Soundcloud stumblings of mine, so I think there should be a lot of things to discover for anyone listening.

In October you can catch me returning to the motherland to perform alongside @tonybontana as Everything Is Psychedelic for @unsoundfestival.

To our Polish fans - at this point it is common knowledge that I am Poland’s greatest experimental cultural export since Andrzej Żuławski. As required by these very special circumstances, I need the crowd to get FRENETIC when we pull up. No excuses.
