Public Justice intervened in a case against multi-million-dollar ICE contractor GEO Group — and we won. Now they have to unseal documents and video evidence of abuse inside their notorious Adelanto ICE Processing Center.

GEO Group has until July 10 to refile unsealed versions of the records we were seeking, including video footage of a use of force incident.

The public has a right to know the truth about conditions in Adelanto, and we’ll ensure the public has access to this information as soon as the records are unsealed. #unriggingthesystem by @publicjustice_

They can bill you for your own jail cell, and in some counties, that money pays for unnecessary staff perks. These fees don't make anyone safer. They just push people who already have little resources even further into debt, long after they've served their time, while making mass incarceration even more costly for communities. Public Justice is fighting this practice in several states to make sure people aren't stuck with a bill for their own jail or prison sentence. by @publicjustice_

When corporations pollute and regulators look away, communities pay with their health. The communities closest to industrial pollution are often the ones with the least power to push back. We represent those communities, standing with them in court and in the fight to hold corporations accountable.

When a student experiences sexual assault, the harm doesn’t end there. It can disrupt classes, grades, housing, and the future they’ve worked for. Alexandra Brodsky, Title IX expert, explores the kinds of support that students need from their schools after sexual violence, and the importance of bringing a civil rights lens to campus rape. by @publicjustice_

VICTORY! The Second Circuit ruled that under the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act (EFAA), survivors of sexual harassment can bring their whole case to court. Defendants cannot split off some claims and force them into private arbitration.

We’re proud to have filed an amicus brief supporting this win in Diaz-Roa v. Hermes Law. This ruling shows what strong laws can do for survivors, and why we need more of them. by @publicjustice_

Schools shouldn’t get to put kids at risk and then walk away from the consequences. A jury found Beaumont ISD’s policies put students at risk of abuse by teachers, but then a court slashed the jury’s money damages award. We filed an amicus brief in the Fifth Circuit arguing that schools can be held accountable under Title IX when their official policies cause students to be abused, and that survivors should be able to recover damages for medical conditions like PTSD and major depressive disorder.

This case is still ongoing. Follow us to see how it unfolds. taken in Texas, USA by @publicjustice_

The Trump administration is rolling back environmental protections, and they aren't slowing down.

From pulling out of the Paris Agreement on day one to gutting the legal foundation for climate action, protecting wildlife, and weakening the Clean Water Act, this administration continues to strip down protections, and we are paying the price.

But we're not backing down. Public Justice is taking on the corporations and systems that make it easier for developers and polluters to destroy habitats, harm endangered species, and expand fossil fuel production. We've fought in court and won to defend the Endangered Species Act and protect local ecosystems from corporate polluters. No matter how the rules change, we'll keep showing up.

PART 2: In January 2026, Robert Peck watched ICE agents swarm his Maine neighborhood during
“Operation Catch of the Day.” Mr. Peck started observing the agents’ actions in his area and quickly became a target of threats from the agents.
A former VA trauma clinician, Mr. Peck told MS Now’s Antonia Hylton in a recent segment that he is “not an escalater” but instead a “reconciler.” Aware of the danger of ICE retaliation, Mr. Peck said he feared the worst but kept recording and practicing his First Amendment rights.
We’re proud to represent Mr. Peck in this lawsuit, which has now publicly identified the two ICE agents accused of violating his constitutional rights. taken in Maine , USA by @publicjustice_

The government cannot enforce approximately 90,000 immigration fines while our lawsuit challenging this practice moves forward, thanks to a new ruling by a federal court. We’ve been fighting back against the Trump Administration’s unprecedent scheme of imposing fines of up to $998 per day against immigrants pursuing lawful immigration relief. In a major victory for immigrant communities nationwide, the court said these practices are illegal, ruling that all fines issued after June 27, 2025, are “stayed” while the case moves forward.

We look forward to building on this win and vindicating the rights of all those impacted by these predatory practices. by @publicjustice_

Powerful corporations and captured government actors have spent decades rewriting the rules — and the fine print — to avoid accountability. We go to court every day to hold those corporations accountable to the people. by @publicjustice_
