Today, the PUCO approved an arrangement between The Belden Brick Company and AEP Ohio.

Belden will be billed for transmission services based on annual peak load, allowing it to better manage its electricity use during times of peak demand. Belden also commits to investing $8 million in on-site generation to further manage electricity consumption. Up to 520 employees will be retained across its Sugarcreek and Canton facilities over the next 5 years.

What does the AI boom mean for Ohio's electric grid?

With data centers rapidly expanding, electricity demand is climbing. The PUCO is working to help ensure these large energy users pay for the power and infrastructure they require, protecting other customers from those costs.

🚛 Teamwork for safer roads! 🚨

PUCO teamed up with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Aberdeen Police Department and the Kentucky State Police for a joint commercial vehicle enforcement detail along the Ohio and Kentucky border.

Inspectors focused on weight and authority compliance while each agency worked within its own jurisdiction.

Great collaboration, stronger partnerships and safer roads across the Ohio River! 🤝🌉

Today the PUCO denied the application of PALMco Energy to become a retail energy provider to industrial and large commercial customers.

In its order, the PUCO noted that at least 10 enforcement actions have been brought against PALMco in other jurisdictions where they operate.
