I was meant to be on bed rest this weekend, due to an unplanned situation. However, I was already booked to work at the brilliant @biglondontattooshow for my awesome mates @brighton_artbattle

I decided to go ahead with the trip as I knew it was going to be fun and I had done so much prep making and sorting outfits etc. I gave my mates the heads up and had full permission to go home or back to the hotel if I needed to. I was also told off a lot for lifting stuff 😅

I am so pleased I went ahead as I think it did me good mentally, even though physically I’m a bit broken this week (thankful for having foresight of taking a week off my 9-5 job).

I then discovered this fab audio from Dolly and it resonated. I know I wouldn’t have ‘lost’ anything as such and I am a big believer in being okay with saying no to things, but I also see the power in pushing through (not sure what the magic answer is to how we make these decisions though - do you?!).
I think it paid off as I came home with warmth in my heart, full of joy from having met some lovely people and being part of creating something special, watched some great stuff and spent time with some of my fave folks.

Hosting Art Battle is one of those things that gives me fear and enjoyment simultaneously and I can’t wait to do it again!

I couldn’t resist revisiting this from a few years back, hopefully bringing you a bit of joy.

Dolly stood for believing in yourself, not being afraid of what people might think of you, the importance of accepting and supporting others and finding the joy in the everyday.

It’s been amazing to see the positive impact that one woman has had on so many people.

A @fumbalinas gown of course!

Along with a wee headpiece I’d rustled up about half an hour before leaving as I ended up working in the morning. Phew! It was going to be far more extravagant but I’m very happy with how it did turn out - I really wanted something to match the fabulous dress and its gorgeous summery colours 🍊

What a wonderful experience the whole gig was - apparently there were 50,000 of us in Preston Park. I was there with some of my bestest family and fiends and saw many lovely folks I know and missed loads too.

I was somewhat uncertain about what it was going to be like but I actually really enjoyed myself, despite the heat and blazing sunshine. And my day was made when Kylie Minogue joined Nick Cave on stage. Which was also rather fitting, given it was Pride weekend.❤️❤️❤️
It’s been an epic few days and I’m rather broken from it all but also feeling the love.

Midweek check in. Not done one of these for a while, so here I am, enjoying the deliciousness of the sea.
How are you doing?

I’m forever in a dilemma about posting on here. It’s such a weird struggle, what with all the awful things happening in the world and the often massive sense of powerlessness.

But I continue looking for the glimmers of hope and happiness and try to find whimsy where I can.

Happy Summer Solstice ☀️
I didn’t get up for a sunrise swim but I did go for a moonlight swim last night!
Despite living just down the road, I’ve never swum @saltdeanlido before so it was very lovely to do just that, whilst watching the moon appearing. Of course no chance of getting a decent picture of it, despite the sky clearing nicely, but I did rustle up a moon hat for the occasion so that will do.

❤️ A bit of swim joy ❤️

This was last weekend when the sun was glorious and the beach was filled with mermates, laughter and chatter.

This weekend I didn’t get near the sea but was able to hang out with some fabulous women, did some creative stuff, saw my favourite son and plotted some subversion.

❤️ Peaches and Pussy ❤️

I experienced an epic and joyous gig by the incredible @peachesnisker the other night in London.
Decided to go lowkey as it was a Monday. Rustled up a repurposed yoni headpiece; added a few vulvic accessories and off I went.
Spent the evening with some fabulous human beings too.
