////// travel notes Come with me to @civilianhotel in NYC. A perfect 2-day rest after driving into the city from Toronto because of a cancelled flight. It was a comfy (but small, as expected) stay. Walking distance to Broadway shows, but not in the heart of tourist central, which I like. The hotel’s theatre theme was just right, especially in its design. My only critique is the non-existent shower door. A slab of glass shields the shower from the floor and I’m not a fan of a wet floor, especially after washing my hair. A few weeks back, I was in NYC doing all I could to pack everything into my few days in the city. What I love most about New York is how fast things happen, and how it’s so easy to execute ideas with the right people and resources. I went to my fave spots in the garment district to grab hardware and notions for some fashion samples I’m working on. But they’ve been sitting in the bag ever since. I haven’t even pulled them out because I’ve had zero space to execute my next steps. And I don’t know a creative entrepreneur who doesn’t need the time, space, and resources to build their vision. The dream hasn’t changed: Build @andreapascual.co, and connect with community through conversations with @sushifridayspod. After many years of doing this on my own, I know there are no rules, and there is no playbook. My only go-to secret is to just keep going. - I think one of the hardest things to do is to build for other people while also building for myself. That, and also trying to be a whole human with a regulated nervous system. 🙃 Also, my biggest regret about popping in and out of the city is not having the capacity to meet some of my fave people. Things will change once I become the only person to dictate my empire and schedule, that’s for damn sure. 😁 taken in New York, New York by @puffaz.p
