🎂 Our Cali girl is EIGHT today! 🎂

Eight years old… although judging by the excitement over her birthday haul, someone clearly forgot to tell Cali she’s supposed to be a senior bunny. 😂

Our little California girl was born in a shelter and came into our lives at 11 months old through a wonderful rabbit rescue. She wasted absolutely no time establishing exactly how things were going to work around here.

Eight years later, she is still opinionated, ridiculously smart, unwaveringly loyal, thoroughly spoiled, and unquestionably the queen of this house. 👑

And then there’s Bun Dad Matt. ❤️

If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you already know these two are a package deal. Cali has always been a social girl, but Matt is her person. They are two peas in a pod, and her loyalty to him is absolute. Bun Mom Sara is loved too, of course… but she understands the hierarchy. 😏

Cali sleeps on our bed, expects life to operate according to her preferences, has opinions about pretty much everything, and somehow manages to be equal parts little spitfire and affectionate snuggle bunny.

Today she celebrated with treats, a new *toy and — appropriately for someone of her status — a posh new sofa. Because obviously the queen needed furniture. 👑😂

*toy gifted to Cali by her wonderful Auntie Dorene @theboopityboops

Happy 8th birthday, Cali. ❤️

From a little shelter-born bunny in California to the tiny ruler of our home, you have brought us seven years of laughter, attitude, love and so much joy.

And judging by today’s birthday performance, our girl has plenty of fire left in her. 🐰❤️

We just booked Cali and Ricky’s annual wellness exam for October.
How often do you do your pet’s wellness exam?

Cali turns 8 this October and Ricky will be 5 in December.

Cali is officially a senior bunny now but she still moves and acts like a much younger rabbit.

Ricky has some ongoing health issues, but they are being managed and he’s a happy little guy.

Hopefully no surprises at their exam ☺️

Yay Ricky!!!!! 🎉

Brave boy FINALLY beat his corneal ulcer! He’s been fighting this since April 🗓️
We are still giving him eye drops for glaucoma twice a day and we have to watch out for more ulcers since he is high risk. But we’ll take this win and enjoy it for today 😁🙌🙏🏼
