This trip has been very special to us as we've been working really hard and finally had a moment to get away, and what better timing than Emilly's birthday weekend.

We've been together for almost 12 years and have gone through it all. She is a strong, smart, kindhearted woman who pushes me to be a better version of myself every day. That's why it felt so right to ask her to be my wife.

Some may say what took so long, I say timing is everything. 😅

Everyone does Capoeira for different reasons, for me, it started as something to switch up my training routine. I was practicing Karate at the time and recently saw a movie featuring the art. Just like many, I was captivated by its fancy movements and music but was unaware of its complexity and what I was getting into.

A few years into my training, I had an opportunity to start teaching Capoeira. In the beginning, just once a week but then the classes started growing. At that point, I was no longer just doing capoeira for myself but for others as well. I think at that moment, my life in Capoeira changed forever.

Today, I don't do Capoeira for the same reasons I did years ago. In fact, today I AM Capoeira. I’m fortunate enough to have built a life with the art and have a beautiful school with students that have become lifelong friends. My job and responsibility is to share what I love with others.

Why do I do Capoeira? I do it because it is difficult, I do it to sweat, I do it to bleed and I do it to smile. And most importantly, I get to do it with great people like you.

As a Capoeirista, you may hear “ Capoeira is for everyone but not everyone is for Capoeira”. Only you will understand that because people who haven't tried Capoeira yet, don’t know what they're missing.

Congratulations to all Toronto and Mississauga students for another successful event, this year was truly something spectacular.

Congratulations Instrutora Nenem! The title is well deserved for the endless hours of work you put in. Plus the colours look good on you too!

Congratulations JJ "Bambam" Titio is very proud of you and I cannot wait to see what you achieve in the future.

Thank you Mestrandro Paraiba for your patience and guidance over the years, I couldn’t have gotten here without you. It’s pretty incredible to pause for a moment and see how far we have come. What is even more incredible though is thinking how far we can still go!

Last but certainly not least, thank you to all the guests who shared the knowledge and time with us this past weekend.

Today we were reminded by Borrachinha that
3 years ago, we hosted our very first Tempo de Bamba!❤️

None of it would have been possible without the guidance of Mestrando Paraíba and Instrutora Neném, and the support and help of so many incredible students and parents who believed in what we were building.

We also had the privilege of welcoming Mestre Graveto and Mestre Lobinho, along with many incredible guests, to be part of our very first event in our home as Capoeira Bamba Mississauga.

It was such an incredible experience. We learned so much from that first event, and with every Tempo de Bamba since, we continue to learn, grow, and find ways to make each one better than the last.

Looking back 3 years later, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. ❤️

Thank you everyone for being for believing in us!
