Hi, I’m Tina 👋 and if you’re new here—welcome.

I’m an occupational therapist/certified hand therapist, and founder of a concierge private practice, Pulse OT (🔗 www.pulseoccupationaltherapy.com), specializing in chronic musculoskeletal injuries of the upper extremity—hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions that often linger longer than they should.

My approach goes beyond the site of pain. I am STOTT PILATES Rehab certified, and use Pilates-based exercise principles to build core and trunk strength, improve postural control, and reduce the cumulative stress placed on the upper extremities during daily life and work. Because how you move through your center directly impacts how your arms function.

Based in New York City, I also offer remote services in California and Nevada, expanding access to specialized upper extremity rehab wherever you are.

Pulse is the heartbeat of everyday life—and that rhythm deserves whole-body, comprehensive care 🤍

✨ Pulse OT wasn’t created from a business plan—it grew from clinical observation. ✨

As a Certified Hand Therapist in a major NYC hospital system, I saw increasing referrals for repetitive strain injuries among healthcare workers.

A clear pattern emerged: treating pain alone wasn’t enough.

Patients needed more than traditional hand therapy—they needed a better understanding of whole-body function, movement patterns, and the role that posture and proximal stability play in upper extremity health. This realization led to the development of a Pilates-based rehabilitation program within the hospital’s outpatient department.

In 2023, I presented this work at the American Society of Hand Therapists Annual Meeting, where the strong response reinforced the growing interest in a more integrated approach to rehabilitation.

These photos were taken during a special season of life while I was expecting my first child. Shortly after becoming a mother, I made the decision to pursue this vision independently and build a practice grounded in these principles. I knew this unique area of practice needed to continue evolving.

Pulse OT was never intended to become a business. It developed organically from a passion for occupational therapy, hand therapy, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and the meaningful outcomes I was seeing with clients.

What began as a clinical observation ultimately became a treatment philosophy: meaningful function requires more than treating symptoms alone. It requires understanding how the entire body contributes to movement, performance, and participation in daily life.

The mission remains the same today: thoughtful rehabilitation, whole-body movement, and helping people return to the activities that matter most. 🌿

✨ Finger discomfort shouldn’t prevent participation in the activities you enjoy✨

As an Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, and STOTT PILATES® Rehab Certified Instructor, I’m always interested in tools that may help support movement while allowing individuals to continue participating in exercise, work, Pilates, fitness, and daily activities.

These @lionteksports finger sleeves provide light compression and support while maintaining mobility—a feature that may be beneficial for individuals experiencing finger discomfort during gripping activities.

✨Credentials matter. Here’s why. ✨

In today’s world, abbreviated certification programs and weekend courses have become increasingly common. While continuing education plays an important role in professional development, the depth of a provider’s training matters when it comes to anatomy, biomechanics, kinesiology, patient safety, and clinical reasoning.

Occupational therapy, certified hand therapy, and Pilates-based rehabilitation each contribute a unique perspective to understanding human movement and function. When combined, they create a comprehensive framework for evaluating movement patterns, identifying sources of dysfunction, and developing individualized treatment strategies.

STOTT PILATES® Rehabilitation training was developed specifically for licensed healthcare professionals seeking to safely integrate Pilates principles into clinical rehabilitation. This specialized training builds upon an existing foundation in rehabilitation science, pathology, movement analysis, and evidence-based practice.

At Pulse OT, Pilates Rehab is utilized as an adjunct to traditional occupational therapy to support improved movement quality, body awareness, strength, and functional performance.

The quality of training influences the quality of care.

🦷 Dental Professionals—this one is for you ‼️

In June 2019, I had the opportunity to serve as an author on the cover story for the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA), examining the prevention and rehabilitation of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in dental professionals. The review highlighted a reality many dentists, hygienists, and assistants know all too well: repetitive movements, sustained postures, and long clinical hours can place significant stress on the neck, shoulders, back, and upper extremities.

Looking back, this publication was a pivotal moment in my career. It sparked my passion for working with individuals experiencing musculoskeletal and repetitive strain injuries and ultimately helped shape the clinical focus of Pulse OT.

Today, I continue to help clients address the movement patterns, postural demands, and physical stressors that contribute to persistent pain and dysfunction—not just by treating symptoms, but by looking at how the entire body moves and functions.

If you’re a dental professional experiencing discomfort in your neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, or hands, consider this your reminder: pain shouldn’t be accepted as part of the job.

✨The prop is only part of the equation. The clinical reasoning behind it is what matters.✨

As an Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, and STOTT PILATES® Rehab Certified Instructor, I use these tools to support alignment, body awareness, strength, and function in ways that extend far beyond the clinic.

Every prop is selected with intention to help clients move more efficiently, build strength, and improve participation in the activities that matter most.

✨ Which prop would you like me to discuss next? Let me know in the comments below. 👇

✨A small shift in how we load the hand can make a significant difference.✨

As an occupational therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, and STOTT PILATES® Rehab Certified Instructor, I’m intentional about how the upper extremity is challenged.

Unlike traditional free weights, Pilates toning balls support a more natural grip—reducing unnecessary tension while promoting intrinsic hand activation, proprioception, and controlled movement.

Less compensation. More efficient function. 💪🏻
