I’m back in Aix-en-Provence 🥳🥳… but only for two nights!!!

If I can convince you of ONE thing for your next trip to France, it’s this: explore France beyond Paris! Venture into the South and discover Provence and the Cévennes, this part of the country is something else.

Yesterday’s road trip from Saint-Jean-du-Gard via Avignon to Aix-en-Provence absolutely blew us away. It’s not often that, as a South African, I find myself looking at another country’s natural beauty and thinking it can rival ours… but yesterday, I did! At times, it felt like we were driving through a massive Stellenbosch/Franschhoek area. ❤️

I am massively impressed!!!! 🥹🇫🇷

This excludes food and drinks, but a meal will cost you around €40/ R737. But this varies because sometimes we paid €20/ R461. Depends on the number of drinks you have with your meal 😂 so very hard to quantify.

Flights: AirFrance: R15,000 JHB—PARIS| MONTPELLIER—JHB
Paris Acc: R24,517/4 | 3 nights (R6,129 pp)
Aix Acc: R15,327/4 | 2 nights (R3,832 pp)
Nice Acc: R13,373/3 | 4 nights (R4,457 pp)

Trains:
Paris — Aix: €48/ R885 pp
Aix — Nice: €10 / R184 pp

Ubers (Nit sure, we used them from the airports and train stations to our apartments)

Visa: I think it was about R2000 (can’t remember)

To get you started you are looking at about R30,487 pp

Remember this excludes food etc and many other costs… this just gets you into France. For a more detailed itinerary… I can do that later when I am back home.

We are in Antibes, a small coastal town between Nice and Cannes in the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur). The vibe he is so relaxed, we have a gorgeous apartment with breathtaking views 🥰🥰 I would highly recommend a stay here. The train ride from Nice is about 20mins!

Lastly, if you scroll far enough, you might see a man from Uitenhage 🫢😘🥰

Menton is so beautiful ❤️😍
The colourful buildings and the nicest people we have interacted with since Aix-en-Provence. People in Nice are not too bad either though to be fair.

Menton is a bus ride away from Nice, takes about an hour. Uses the same pass you use in town so it's VERY affordable.

It's raining today so we are finally visiting Museums in the city. I can't believe we haven't been to ONE museum since we arrived @cebile_nzuza 👀

Also, this is the last day with the girls, then hubby arrives and I enter into Passenger Princess mode 😍💁🏾‍♀️

A few days into Paris 🇫🇷 and I can officially say… having my travel money sorted before I left was a very good decision.

I’ve already used my Absa Multi-Currency Mastercard Cash Passport a couple of times here and it’s been so easy. I loaded my travel budget before the trip, locked in my exchange rate and now I can just tap and carry on with my day. ✈️💳

I also did a little demo in the video so you can see just how easy it is to manage.

And there’s a little bonus… load or reload your Cash Passport to a cumulative R25,000 or more in foreign currency during the promotional period and you could stand a chance to win one of four trips for two to Zanzibar. 🌴 Competition ends on 31 December 2026.

Few days in Paris 🇫🇷

I didn't get a chance to disconnect at all. Work has been crazy since I arrived here. But we are now headed to Aix-en-Provence and I plan to disconnect fully and start enjoying this trip.

We stayed in the most iconic location in the Champs-Élysées and the price wasn't too crazy. About 100m to the Arc de Triomphe!

What a special weekend at Nieu-Bethesda 🩵 ❄️ ⛄️
It’s our second time in this town/ village. This time we stayed at @mukti_karoo I will make a separate post showing the gorgeous house.

Nieu-Bethesda is about 51km from Graff-Reinet. It’s a perfect stop from JHB or Cape Town coming to the Eastern Cape. It can also be a trip on its own, if you like beautiful and interesting destinations 😉😉
It’s quaint with lots of stunning accommodation and restaurants. So if you are wondering where your next stop should be check this place out.
