Ein großer Schritt würde gemacht!

Klingt komisch, ist aber so!

Das Projekt begann mit @handforged
Von dem ich etwas Stahl geschenkt bekommen habe und @messerschmiede.jettenbach
Der mir an seiner Presse die Anfänge vom Damast schmieden beigebracht hat.
Dabei ist als Nebenprojekt ein Paket aus 42 lagen Stahl entstanden.

Das habe ich zusammen mit Jonas in ein Serpentinen Muster mit ca 3300 lagen auf 11,5cm verwandelt.

Danke dabei auch an Daniel in dessen Kursschmiede die letzten beiden schweißungen unter optimalsten Bedingungen durchgeführt wurden.

Ich bin echt gespannt was beim nächsten Mal für ein Ergebnis auf mich wartet wenn der Barren in Form geschmiedet und ausgewählt ist.

Milling a water cooled radiusplaten (R375mm) for @spira_knives back in spring.

The aluminium cooling plate is press fitted into the radiusplaten and is held by the springiness of the radiusplaten, for sealing you only need to add a bit of silicone.

If enough people want one i will make a batch available.

Der Alu Kühlkörper wird durch eine Übermaßpassung in der Radiusplatte gehalten und muss nur mit etwas Silikon abgedichtet werden.

I cannot recommend the vegan Bienenwichse more than i already do because the finish it leaves is awesome! It doesn't matter if you apply it to stabilized or natural wood the finish is silky smooth and just beautiful!

Currently I'm testing out the new compound for polishing and stropping paste but so far it is just awesome and leaves a shiny finish after buffing.

🇩🇪 Was hab ich mich gefreut, als @3co_knives mir Bescheid gab, dass er für uns noch ein Stück #apaxultra ergattern konnte! Ich bin sehr gespannt auf diesen Stahl! Es soll mit Abstand das beste Material auf der Welt für Messer sein! Hoffentlich bin ich schon bereit dafür!

Here I'm killin it at @handforged beltgrinder because he has a water cooling system and was so kind to let me use it.

This is one of the two @damasteelab blades I've shown being etched in the previous reel.

Cooling your blade while grinding after heattreatment is essential because you don't want to loose any hardness which will ruin your blade.

I'm grinding off the oxides from the hardening process and at the same time thinning the blade down so it gets the right geometry.
