Between the beaches of Buzios and Arraial Do Cabo. These almost feel like postcards. It was winter in Brasil, but the sun was shining like it was summer ☀️

I was once asked if there was a fire in my home, what would I grab? I immediately said this picture.

This photo was gifted to me by my grandmother; a photo of my dad talking to her on the phone when he first migrated to the U.S in the 70’s. According to her there were no words on his end, just non stop tears.

It’s one of my favorite photos of him for all the sacrifices and the sorrow behind it, knowing that my grandmother was on the other end of that phone, and above all else knowing that he would eventually one day be okay

At a rest stop on our way to Quito, this beautiful nun asked my cousin and I to join her convent, she was surrounded by other younger nuns. When I politely declined she said, “well I tried. I have to get as many of you as I can before you slip through my fingers“

After taking her photo she told my cousin to stay in school and told me to go back to my studies, before she offered us a place to stay with her in Quito. Joining her convent doesn’t sound too bad right about now
