Puppet Jam members @kelbyguilfoyle and @kylemossy are taking their show Bucket Head to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer! Wishing them a fabulous run and calling any friends / enemies / supporters / admirers to give those piggy banks a little shake if you can - as we well know taking a show to the Fringe is a big old spend including show costs, accommodation, pre-fringe rehearsal space, and materials costs, can you sponsor an eye or a rod? Or come see the show, read all about it here: https://gofundme.com/bucket-head-edinburgh-fringe-2024 or link through their bios x by @puppet_jam

Join us this Wednesday 24th for our next Puppet Jam! DM or email hellopuppetjam@gmail.com to book your place.

It's amazing what can be created in in just 45 minutes, our recipe at our last puppet jam was a flexible brief peppered with rich imagery, and a room full of enthusiasm, laughter and freedom from perfection. Here are some images from our final exercise where we split into groups and played out consecutive scenes from the tale of Blue Beard. Big thanks to Chloe Purcell @crafty.art.witch for creating this fabulous session and to @littleangeltheatre for hosting us. taken in Little Angel Studios. Islington by @puppet_jam

Member Kaeridwyn Eftelya @lostnfoundpuppetco has an enchanting show on at Apple Cart Arts (East Ham, London) tonight (9th Nov) and 2 shows on Saturday (11th) Come along!

Worlds Apart: A Tale from Yener Velt is a puppet and music show that explores contemporary Jewish identity through sisterhood.

Leah and Rachel are sisters, but as they’ve grown up, they’ve drifted apart from each other and from their Jewish heritage. When their Bubbe (grandmother) dies, they come back together for a final Shabbos (Jewish Sabbath) in Bubbe’s house. However, they forgot how to do it. They stumble through half-mumbled prayers and no one brought the wine. This unusual Shabbos has unusual results: a demon is called forth, a portal appears, and through magical mishap Rachel and Leah are separated, thrown in the Overworld and the Underworld. Each sister has her own path to follow and her own demons to encounter, some more literal than others! This is certainly a Shabbos like no other - will Leah and Rachel ever see each other again?

Worlds Apart: A Tale from Yener Velt is an international collaboration between artists Kaeridwyn Eftelya and Maggie Winston. With the aim to create a contemporary bobe-mayse (folktale), they raided Jewish folklore to create the fantastical mish-mash story that is also inspired by their own Jewish experiences. Jen Quinn is director/dramaturg. Noah Silver joins as puppeteer and Josh Middleton collaborates as musician, composer and puppeteer.
