When planning her P4 experiential rotations, Purdue Pharmacy graduate Madeline Connors set her sights on a truly out-of-this-world opportunity.With support from Dr. Brian Shepler, Purdue Pharmacy’s associate dean for engagement and partnerships, Connors secured a NASA Aerospace Medicine Clerkship at the Johnson Space Center. Even more exciting, her experience coincided with the Artemis II mission — NASA’s first crewed mission around the moon in more than 50 years.During her clerkship, Connors completed a monthlong research project evaluating analgesic use among astronauts participating in the International Space Station program, gaining firsthand experience at the intersection of pharmacy, medicine and human spaceflight.From community pharmacies to research labs to NASA, Purdue Pharmacy students pursue experiential learning opportunities that help launch extraordinary careers.#PharmacysGiantLeap #MySmallStep by @purduepharmacy
