“Daily Bread” - Pat Barrett and Kari Jobe.
(Written by Joel Boldero, Kate Gurren, and Steven Packer).

I love these lyrics because they’re so sincere and really embody what my soul desperately needs in this season. A reminder that in God, I live, move and have my being.

thank you @itsestherchungu for this joyful tune

this song reminds us that we can encourage our souls and our hearts to hope in God and that we can resist the enemy’s tactic to stealing our joy with God’s promises and strength.

many times, we wait for others to come and encourage us. while God does use people to do that, Scripture also has moments where the person has to remind themselves of God’s goodness.

David, in 1 Samuel 30:6, “encouraged himself in the LORD.” the psalmist in Psalm 42 had to remind his soul to hope in God again.

the enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy our joy because joy and hope give us reason to keep going. he often succeeds, but we still have a weapon: the word of God.

with it, we can purpose that BECAUSE God made this day and BECAUSE His mercies are new every morning (re: Lamentations 3:22-23) we can and will rejoice 🙂‍↕️

I often wonder what Moses felt when he saw the LORD of hosts pass by.

I often wonder what the disciples felt, seeing, living, hearing and walking with Jesus, God’s Son.

But I am sure they would marvel at what it’s like to have God’s Holy Spirit live in us, walking with us, counseling us, giving us peace.

They are distinct but work in sync, wanting intimacy, holiness, purity for us.

Let us continue to seek His face. His beauty. His holiness. It’s what we were made for.
