I’ve been on both sides of a bridal appointment now, and I think being a bride myself has definitely changed the way I look after my brides.

I remember worrying that the stress of planning a wedding would get to me, especially when there are so many little things you want to go perfectly. But the biggest thing I learnt is that so much of it is completely out of your control.

The weather, the little hiccups, the things that don’t quite go to plan… none of it matters as much as you think it will.

When the day actually comes, try to enjoy it for exactly what it is. You’re marrying your best friend, surrounded by people who love you, and that feeling outweighs everything else. 🤍

So from one bride to another: try not to put too much pressure on yourself. Enjoy the planning, enjoy the chaos, and most importantly, enjoy your day.

Let’s talk about sizing, because this is something SO many brides worry about.

The number on the label really doesn’t matter to us. When you order your wedding dress, we’ll take your measurements and talk you through the best size to order based on you and your dress.

But there is one thing we need from you: honesty.

If you’re planning to lose or gain weight, using weight-loss medication such as Mounjaro, trying for a baby, already pregnant, or you know there could be a significant change to your body before the wedding, please tell us and keep us updated along the way.

Not because we’re here to judge or give you medical advice. We’re not.

It’s because wedding dresses can have long order times, and the more we know about your plans, the better we can advise you on things like when to order, sizing, alterations and what options may work best for your timeline.

And please don’t put off ordering a dress with a longer delivery time because you’re worried your body might change. Talk to us first. There may be options we can work through together.

These conversations are completely confidential and handled with care. We’ve heard it all before, and our only concern is making sure your dress works for YOU when your wedding day arrives.

Your size is just a measurement. Keeping us in the loop is what helps us do our job properly.
