"I joined Purple Side because even before I got to UM, I experienced and heard how much of a family they are. Everyone was super sweet to me whenever I came to visit and even at orientation. I knew I would feel welcomed. My experience as a purple has been amazing, chaotic, busy, and fun! It truly is now a part of my life. To me being a purple means to stand with love and consideration for others. “I joined purple side when I didn’t have a lot of family in my life and quickly purple side became my family. They were there when I didn’t have a lot in life and i immediately felt supported and welcomed onto the side. When I was elected leader it was truly the greatest honor I could have been given so I can continue to foster that welcoming environment alongside my wonderful co leader and give back to the side that gave so much to me💜”

Taylor Frick-
“When I started out on purple side I didn’t have a whole lot of confidence in myself or my abilities. The leaders my first year saw through that and saw the value in me. Since then I have thrown myself completely into the game and never looked back. Purple side has always been a place that pushed me to work harder. It became clear to me early on that playing is not about winning, but about the love of the game, and the family this experience gives you. Some of my best memories in college were given to me by this side. The delusional late night Exxon runs while working in side space, screaming at the top of my lungs at the games, pulling an all nighter with my best friends just to get the production book in on time. There is something so magical about purple side, it truly brings out the best in people. I am so grateful for the chance to serve as leader this year with my extremely perspicacious and caring co leader and our amazing dedicated cabinet. 💜”

College Night scripts are due Friday, October 9th at 4 p.m. to Marion Brown in Ramsey Hall.

Your script should include the following:
✅ character descriptions
✅ musical number breakdowns (placement, vocal style, song examples) ✅ a FULL plot (beginning, middle, end).

Jada has been a purple for 3 years now and was apart of our photography team last year! Here's what she has to say about her time on purple side:

"Originally at orientation purple side caught my eye but it was not until I started going to the mixers that I truly understood what it was that I liked about the side. I love the people, the vibe and the acceptance. I never felt like it was something I didnt belong to, even as an awkward freshman. Last year I truly got envolved and that was game changing. I got to know more people on the side, I felt respected for my work, and the rush was super exciting. Being a purple to me is family and opportunity, a place where people truly want to see you rise above and end in the greatest way you can." by @purplevictory
