We all likely heard of box breathing & the 5 senses technique. Here are some more grounding techniques that can help you regain control and calm when feeling overstimulated, anxious, or disconnected.

What helps you feel grounded? by @purpose.therapy

To be human to is to simultaneously hold pain & joy. Grief and love. Hopelessness and hopefulness. Coping with this endless dichotomy often looks like allowing yourself to sit with the emotions that come with the lows while also finding sources of joy to revitalize your hope.

It is well. And if it’s not well right now, one day it will be well again. Even if just for a moment.

Marriage is not do or d*e, and God also wants His children to be safe and in healthy unions.

A pastor who doesn’t encourage their members to also seek clinical counseling is doing a disservice to them and is potentially perpetuating the same harm the couples are experiencing in their marriage.

The ‘blessed’ enduring wife.

The God fearing husband to abuser pipeline.

The generational cycles that remain unbroken despite prayer & fasting.

The absolute dismissal of accountability.

So many layers to dissect.

Intimate partner violence can be very complex. There are a lot of behaviors that are justified as “acts of love” or “being blunt” or even “trying to create order in a relationship”.

No one is meant to be dominated in a relationship. No one should be “molded” to fit the characteristics their partner desires, nor should they endure abuse because their partner is the “leader of the household”.

Let’s talk about it.
