Before I graduated from Dawson’s RN program,I applied to McGill for the bridge bachelor of nursing program in 2014 didn’t get in…a few rejections…12 years later, a bachelors & masters degree,…over 10 years of nursing !! 3 years in acute care, 2.5 years in long term care, 2.5 years in gender affirming care & 3 years of primary care….. 🐦‍🔥I’m a McGill student, the most prestigious school here🎈 this one is personal. God allowed me to do this 🤍I did this for my immigrant family who did not have access to higher education. They worked odd jobs so i didn’t have to. I understood that they did not want their stuggles to be mine. I understood the assignment, this is for my aunt and uncles. 33 years of God’s favor, blessings and grace. I thank the Lord for his mercy upon my life & for surrounding with incredible people on this journey because I couldn’t have done it without them.

This year as I celebrate graduating Grad school & another year of life, I’m overwhelmed with joy, but most of all grateful 🎈🤍👩🏾‍🎓 👩🏾‍⚕️

Moreover, As a first generation who’s graduated with a Masters degree, I can’t help but thank my immigrant family for this opportunity.

Being on a semi acute medical floor, most of the patients have tiny veins, which intimidated the students. I allowed them to practice their technique on me 👏.
