The art of 50mm. 📷

Sometimes, all it takes is one lens to fall in love with photography all over again.

Recently, the 50mm has brought back my passion for shooting. To me, it’s one of the perfect lenses for street photography: it allows me to capture everyday life as it unfolds, while staying discreet enough to become part of the scene rather than interrupt it.

But what fascinates me the most is the sense of depth — the way it captures the relationship between foreground and background, bringing a three-dimensional feeling to an otherwise flat image.

No need for a dozen lenses. Sometimes, one is enough to see the world differently.

how I see venice

I’ve been studying here in Venice for almost a year now, and ever since I arrived, my perception of this place has changed so much.

At first, I couldn’t find any inspiration in this city. I don’t know, to me it felt empty, almost like it had no identity of its own. After all, all I seemed to see were tourists and students.

But with time, and through the solo walks I’ve learned to appreciate, I started noticing more and more little details.

In the end, there was nothing wrong with this place. There was something wrong with me.

It wasn’t easy, but Venice has become home to me now.

I want to explore this city. I want to see the things that nobody else notices. I’m curious to discover hidden places and unknown corners.

With this in mind, I’m planning to build a community here in Venice, where we can go out, take photos, explore, and create together. But I’ll talk more about that soon.

Postcards from Sardegna

For me, it was a little bit like going back in time

Ever since I was little, I’ve always spent time in Sardinia. My dad is Sardinian, and many members of his big family still live on the island

This time, he couldn’t make it, and since it had been about five years since my last visit, I decided to go with my mum and Noemi

Being there made me feel like a kid again. Everything felt familiar, yet somehow like a dream

Starting to appreciate life in Venice

Sono stati mesi molto duri, che mi sono serviti per ambientarmi in questa città piena di segreti. Piano piano sto iniziando ad apprezzarla sempre di più.

L’inverno è stato caratterizzato da giornate grigie e nebbiose, fredde e silenziose.

Con l’arrivo della primavera anche il silenzio dentro di me sta iniziando a svanire. Ora posso definirmi pronto (quasi pronto) a farmi accogliere da Venezia, ancora lentamente, ma iniziando a fare qualche passo in avanti.

These past months have been very tough, but they helped me settle into this city full of secrets. Little by little, I’m starting to appreciate it more and more.

Winter was filled with grey and foggy days, cold and silent.

With the arrival of spring, the silence inside me is slowly starting to fade away. Now I can say that I’m ready (almost ready) to be welcomed by Venice—still slowly, but finally starting to take a few steps forward.
