Opening: Domenica 13 settembre 2026, dalle 16:30
Performance Ore 17:00

Can we enter the exhibition, or can’t we? For Spazio Lampo, Mélissa Biondo transforms the act of looking into an experience of desire, curiosity and uncertainty. An apparently inaccessible room invites visitors to move along its edges, search for openings and catch fragments of a scene that never fully reveals itself. Framing explores the ambiguous space between voyeur and spectator, between watching and being watched — drawing us closer to what remains just out of reach.

Mélissa Biondo is a visual artist living and working in Geneva. Through installation, performance, and image, her practice explores identity, power dynamics, and contemporary forms of alienation. She studied at HEAD Genève, and her work has been presented in Switzerland and internationally, including Les Urbaines, Kunstmuseum Basel, MACRO Rome, and the 2026 Swiss Art Awards.

Presenting finalist Melissa Biondo (*1994), Art category. Her practice unfolds through performance, exploring identity, power dynamics, entertainment and the politics of occupying space, asking who exists by default, and who must devise strategies to take up space in order to be seen. Biondo’s work invites the audience to project into and onto her, navigating tension between presence and void, humor and the morbid, stillness and invasion. She claims ambiguity as both an aesthetic and ethical stance, a terrain where meaning wavers and perception stretches.

Looking back at the Swiss Performance Art Award 2025:

Mélissa Biondo (@pusgl) with the performance «Edging»
Sound composition: LAFROFEE / @lafrofeeriique_

Edging—a moment of suspension, a delayed gratification where the body, on the threshold to action, becomes both presence and absence. Through a dramaturgy of slowness, Edging explores the dilation of time, where pleasure rubs shoulders with discomfort in a slowly shifting terrain, poised between movement and stillness, tension and release. The piece evokes both monstrosity and tenderness, concealment and protection. What seems grotesque may veil an inner calm, a refuge that can only be sensed through the gaps, folds, and off-screen spaces of performance. Biondo claims ambiguity as an aesthetic and ethical stance, inviting the audience to inhabit a terrain where meaning wavers, perception stretches, and the real remains inexhaustible.

The Swiss Performance Art Award 2025 took place at Kunstmuseum Basel on Saturday, November 15th 2025. It was hosted by @kunstkreditbaselstadt / @kulturbasel in collaboration with @kunstmuseumbasel.

🤭Little sneak peek of what’s waiting at 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 (2–27.12 @ Le Commun, GE)

– Spooky Action At A Distance – Jak Ritger (US) | Installation
Portals on each floor open timelines across history. Perception, belief, and hidden quantum-psychological fields shape new realities in this LARP-inspired, site-specific work.

– Max Pounder – lo.me (CH) | 11–12.12 | 19h
A body unfolds, watches itself, disrupts. Rules shift, the ground becomes play, and endurance takes over. Between performance and stage, lo.me explores ritual, resistance, and the persistence of play.

– girls’ games & city playgrounds – Hypernormalisa & Emil Adam (DE) | Sculpture
Second-hand toys merge into a surreal wall sculpture. Playhouses and miniatures reveal discarded childhood objects, reflecting on gendered socialization, material excess, and late-capitalist object-life.

– Reuter in Tehran – Bahar Noorizadeh (NL-UK) | 3.12 | 19h
A lecture-performance of secret files, cryptic diagrams, and strange maps tracing a financial entity surviving since 1889. Hidden histories of free-trade zones, parallel banks, and subcontracting empires emerge — an alternative cosmology of capital.

Paper Tripper
