At some point in time, someone convinced you there wasn't enough. Not enough opportunity. Not enough love. Not enough compassion.

I'm here to remind you that there's plenty. If you are having trouble finding it, look somewhere new. Go to the library and make a friend. Try a new church. Join an intramural sport.

Show your children want community looks like by partaking in it yourself. Life just might get a little brighter for you. Those heavy things might feel a little lighter.

There is something about that overwhelming sense of clarity and alignment you feel when you finally put all the puzzle pieces together that God has been handing you. For me, that is PUSH Foundation.

I encourage you to visit pushfoundation.net and spend a few minutes looking at what I am buidling with an incredible team of people.

@wnba Legend and Fort Wayne native, Leslie Johnson, joined @push.foundation at the PUSH Foundation Back to School Bash to talk with young people about the power of choice.

Johnson spoke about the decisions we make, the way we respond when life gets difficult, and the responsibility we have to believe there is more ahead of us.

This is what we mean when we talk about creating intentional experiences. We mean creating a moment where a child can hear from someone who has lived it, achieved it, struggled, grown, and chosen to keep moving forward.

Thank you, Leslie, for showing up for the next generation. Keep making Fort Wayne proud! 🤝🏽

It's almost time for the PUSH Foundation Back to School Bash. There will be barbers and stylists available from Noon to 5 p.m. to get your kids ready for the Back to School season.

WNBA Legend, Leslie Johnson, is making a special appearance, and Wayne Township Trustee's Office - Fort Wayne person of the year, Roderick Parker, will share a few words to encourage our young people before they head back to school this week.

We will have bingo prizes, including JBL speakers and Sprayground backpacks. Delicious food options and refreshing drinks. Free meals avaliable for the first 100 attendees (hot dogs, chips, and water).

We will have relay races, a live dj all day, a professional photographer, two chances to participate in yoga, and a community mural for you to put your artistic touch on.

Our event is designed to make sure kids, parents, and everyone else in attendance has a good time and leaves feeling more connected to our community.

We will also have a relaxation area with noise canceling headphones for anyone who needs a reset.

I've spent the last several weeks walking this space, measuring, planning, moving things around on paper, meeting incredible community partners, and imagining what it could become.

On August 9, will transform into a place where families connect, kids have fun, and students head into the school year feeling supported and confident.

This photo perfectly captures what @_push.active is creating — spaces where kids can connect, feel seen, build community together, and unlock their full potential.

Thank you to every family, voluntold helper (Cynthia Grieser , Gail L. Grieser, Ellen Grieser, and Jeff Spencer), and the partners who helped make our first official PUSH Active event so special 🙏🏽

The kids left the event smiling with their polo sets on, medals in hand, snow cones enjoyed, and memories made. Watching my son enjoy a day at the park I grew up in was added bonus.

Huge thank you to Savannah Mignerey and @qdoba for showing so much love, Roderick Parker for jumping in and truly engaging with the kids, and Crunch Fitness for bringing so much positivity throughout the day.

Thank you to @monarchflair for helping us load the car up after the event. And for just showing up to see how things were going! That meant a lot 😊

Movement looks different for everyone.

For some kids it’s basketball. For some it’s dance. For some it’s simply having a space where they feel confident enough to try something new.

That’s a huge part of why I’m building PUSH Active.

I’ve been connecting with some really great local organizations and programs while putting this event together and while finding things after work to keep my little guy busy.

Midwest Motion Studio of Dance is one place I’d absolutely encourage families to check out if you’re looking for ways to keep your kids active, engaged, and building confidence this summer.

Thank you, Miss Allison, for making Westlee feel so comfortable and included in class this evening. We can't wait to start summer classes next month!

One thing I didn’t expect while building PUSH Active was how many conversations this event would start.

What began as a family experience focused on movement, confidence, and community has quickly evolved to a space where families can not only have fun together, but also connect with organizations, opportunities, and resources for their kids this summer.

Roderick Parker and I are currently working on bringing in community organizations during our lunch/community connection portion of the event to share programs and opportunities still available for kids and families this summer. If you or someone you know has affordable summer activities, reach out to connect.

Sometimes families just don’t know what’s out there, and if PUSH can help bridge that gap while creating a positive experience for kids at the same time, that matters to me.

This is exactly why I said PUSH Active isn’t about recreating what already exists — it’s about collaboration and helping connect people to the amazing work already happening throughout our city.

May 16th can’t come fast enough 🙌🏽
