Tonight at @uniondocs 🎬

An evening of films where food becomes memory, ritual, and resistance—across neighborhoods and ecosystems.

Film line-up:
Ice Cream Window (dir. Astrid Malter), a day in a Ridgewood pop-up where community gathers.
Guguță (dir. @anitavolker_hl), a cherry cake carrying memory across generations.
Seaweed Stories (dir. @jake_sumo), a global look at seaweed and climate resilience.
Zen Brownie (dir. @alisonbartlett1), a bakery built on compassion, inclusion, and care.
Barriga Llena, Corazón Contento (preview; dirs. Jordana Rubenstein-Edberg & Marshall Hanig), a food pantry @fenixcommunityfridge rooted in migration and mutual support.

The evening concludes with a panel featuring Astrid Malter, Fenix, Jordana Rubenstein-Edberg and Natalia Fuentes, moderated by @missmolinga, followed by brownies, ice cream from @icecreamwindow, and @enjoyacid.nyc tastings.

𝗙𝗥𝗜, 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝟭 — 𝟳:𝟯𝟬𝗣𝗠
𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗡

We’re pairing 𝗔𝘀𝗹ı 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗸𝗮𝗹’𝘀 [ @aslikasli ] 𝘋𝘈𝘙𝘒𝘙𝘖𝘖𝘔 and 𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀’ [ @kim__torrent ] 𝘚𝘖𝘓𝘖 𝘓𝘈 𝘓𝘜𝘕𝘈 𝘊𝘖𝘔𝘗𝘙𝘌𝘕𝘋𝘌𝘙Á for a lyrical evening exploring time, memory, and the concept of home. Moving through everyday landscapes, from coastal towns and cornfields to red-lit darkrooms, these films open intimate archives in the making, inviting viewers into processes shaped by collaboration and speculative world-building.

We’re also inviting one additional short film to join this lineup as a gesture of connecting communities!

Submit a hybrid work that offers a portrait of home while reimagining time and memory.
⏳ Submissions due APR 18
🎞️ Max runtime: 30 min

Organized with @airtime.world and @speciwomen’s @at.magnet Residency, this evening foregrounds porous boundaries between maker and audience, and celebrates imagination as a form of resilience. A conversation with filmmakers will follow the program.
