About 6 months ago, on my 45th birthday, I set my self a bunch of silly little mid life crisis goals.
One of which was to read 45 books before my 46th birthday.
That’s a book every 8 days leaving 5 days to spare.
The hope was it would reduce my screen time and my consumption of AI fuelled algorithm brain rot.
I might even learn something.
It’s been so long since I have been in the habit of reading I didn’t really know what I liked to read. So it’s been a mix of non fiction stories like biographies, a few classics, some modern stuff, authors with dozen of best sellers to those writing their debut story. Australian and international authors. Some translated to English from other languages.
I’ve both snort laughed and cried on the train, I’ve not been able to put books down and continued reading until 3am, I’ve been angry and I’ve gasped at the feelings the carefully crafted combination or words can drag me into.
Anyway I’m keeping pretty close to schedule. Today I finished book 20.
