I always blame @13chickenman for being a major influence on my golf addiction after meeting him ten years ago. It was a blast watching two young world beaters tame the stadium yesterday from the big boys tees. It’s a guaranteed good time when 4 buddies from 4 corners of the country meeting in Hutchinson, Kansas. Thank you @tarheelnation3 for hosting @joey2aces @mattscheelar and myself at Prairie Dunes this week. It was my 5th trip to PD and first time staying on property. I enjoyed the new founders accommodations that were built since my last visit which added to convenient post round festivities after our daily 36 surrounded by the gunch. taken in Prairie Dunes Country Club by @putterho

Mrs. Putterho imposed a no golf Monday to clean up for Xmas. My ADHD kicked in when organizing the golf closet since it is finally getting cold enough to wear trousers. Tough to beat some Footjoy wingtips in the winter. @larossa_shoe would be proud. #footjoy #footjoyclassics by @putterho

Grateful for the opportunity to travel west to conclude Father’s Week. Appreciate the crew for an all time invite after striking out on the Walker Cup ticket lottery. We may not have won the course but we definitely won the pro shop. by @putterho

I’m often asked what “Scotty” someone should buy. It’s always a hard question to answer because I generally don’t have thirty minutes to dive down the black hole of shop talk but it’s usually something along the lines of what’s the closest to a circle T or which is your favorite “reasonable” Scotty. 15 years ago on GolfWrx, @mikeboomrod TheBoomer and I used to go head to head buying every Milspec 33 350g Newport that would hit the open market. I think I got up to around a bakers dozen but probably slowed down when 3 kids were in daycare at one time selling them off here and there when it came to a forever putter for someone. It’s still my favorite closest OTR Scotty that would in theory resemble what some consider a poor man’s circle T. When Ian and @sugarloafsocialclub @makinogolf_jp released their volume 2 Fly Girl, it was a snap call with no thinking involved. I love his take on the Classic Mil Spec and it will go into play at some point. The attention to detail was well thought out giving much respect to the original. I cant wait to cut it down, put her in the bag, and enjoy three jacking without a care in the world. by @putterho

Trying to explain your day to your wife….. I’m hosting 3 people that I met online to play golf but have never actually spoken to in person. They are from 3 different places and will only be here for a quickie. I will somehow finish 2 hours faster than every other round in the past and still be on schedule at 1:45 p.m but don’t get used to quick golf days in the future. I have to break up with my old caddie because I randomly got paired up with a new one that just meshed better. The 3 dudes found the 17th Green on their first balls but did not pull out cell phones and to record.

Wife: What if they’re like a group serial ki11ers? Why did they play so fast? Were they just really good at golf? I don’t get the caddie thing, like how does someone carrying your golf clubs make you better? How long was your other caddie with you because you aren’t great at golf so he probably won’t mind.

Me: Some days you just meet guys that just get it but don’t live and breathe golf exclusively 24-7. Some days just work out absolutely perfect. Sometimes you’d rather be one club long with a perfect shot on 17 and not hold the green but all 3 of your playing partners stick it and will always remember making par their first time out. taken in TPC Sawgrass by @putterho

In my opinion, the hunt makes collecting fun. You never know who or where something will surface. Last week I found an NOS pair of Ostrich Full Quill Classics to match my grails. I had never seen a pair in my size besides the pair that @larossa_shoe golf reconstructed for me many years ago. Thanks to @dave.hensleyiii for listing them when you unloaded your collection. Also a big thanks to my guy Brad Walker for the @scottycameron Ostrich Ben @exoticgrips stitchback a while back. One pair will go in the locker for weekly use. The hunt never ends. by @putterho
