A lot of people had been asking for some more details of our build. So who better to ask than the man himself. Tyler from @pvs_tuning with a brief overview of the build itself.

358kW & 661Nm at the hubs on 18psi.

The goal with this engine was never to chase the biggest dyno number. It was to build a reliable, repeatable package that performs where it matters most

I’m probably more impressed with the torque curve than the peak power figure. It comes on hard, carries strong torque through the mid range and continues to make power all the way to redline, giving the car a broad, usable powerband instead of one big torque spike.

We decided to stick with a 10psi wastegate spring. That means boost tapers slightly towards the top end when commanding 18psi, leaving a little power on the table, but having a genuine low boost base map was more important to me. It gives us the flexibility to run the car at a lower power level whenever we need to, rather than building the whole package around one number.

We could have gone further with larger injectors, but I wanted to see what we could achieve with the current combination first. I’m really happy with where it’s landed and there’s still room to grow if we decide to later.

One thing I want to continue doing is sharing the journey openly. Motorsport has a habit of hiding the details, but I think there’s value in showing what works, what doesn’t, the compromises we make and why we make them. If someone else building their own car can learn something from our successes or our mistakes, then it’s worth sharing.

Massive thanks to @pvs_tuning for the countless hours spent refining every part of this package. Now it’s time to stop looking at dyno graphs and see what it can do where it counts.

@beauyates86 is back after a 7 year hiatus from drifting! This time he's back with a more budget friendly build. Starting off with a $5k GT86 he's picked up from the auction house. He'll be sticking on an @sydneymotorsportengineering SME G-series turbo kit followed by a @pvs_tuning tune, then sending it on the race track!!

The heart of our @worldtimeattackchallenge campaign is finally complete.

Build Specs:
• Nitto Performance forged rods
• CP Carrillo forged pistons
• ACL Race bearings
• ARP head studs
• HKS head gaskets
• Kelford valve springs
• Denstoj rocker retainers

I honestly can’t everyone at PVS Tuning enough. This project has pushed well beyond the typical bolt on build, and they’ve been there every step of the way. Their knowledge, workmanship and commitment to getting everything right has been incredible.

The FA24 is still a relatively new platform, but PVS have now successfully completed multiple forged builds and continue to build on their experience with every engine. Knowing mine has been assembled by a team that genuinely cares about reliability just as much as power gives me a lot of confidence heading towards WTAC.

To Tyler personally, thank you. Your support has gone far beyond building an engine. You’ve always made time to answer questions, share your knowledge and treat this project like it was your own. That means a lot, and I won’t forget it.

Now it’s time to put this all back together. Tune it and take my balls out my wife’s purse and send it LFG!!!

Pretty cool to get a behind the scenes look at what goes into building a forged FA24.

Today Tyler from @pvs_tuning walked me through some of the critical measuring and machining processes that happen long before an engine ever sees final assembly. Every piston ring is individually filed and checked for the correct end gap, bearing clearances are measured and verified, rod and crank tolerances are inspected, and each component is measured multiple times to ensure everything falls within specification.

It’s the sort of work that most people never see, but it’s these small details that separate a reliable performance engine from one that becomes a problem later on.

A massive thank you to Tyler for giving up part of his day off to get the ball rolling on this build and for taking the time to explain the process along the way. His attention to detail and knowledge of the platform is second to none.

Seeing the @cpcarrillo_ pistons, @nittoperformanceengineering rods, ACL bearings and freshly machined block all coming together makes it feel like this WTAC build is finally becoming a reality.

Pretty cool experience being trusted as the wheel guy for @pvs_tuning during Round 1 of the ARDC Endurance Championship.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous changing a tyre in my life, but I’d say it went alright since they all stayed attached 😂.

It was also my first time watching Tyler and Hado race, and what a race it was. An unexpected first pit stop due to an engine issue put them on the back foot early, but they drove around the problem and fought their way back to first outright through strategy, consistency, and some seriously impressive driving.

Unfortunately, the loss of engine power eventually caught up with them and the BMW managed to reel them in during the final 15 minutes. Even so, they still brought home first in class and second outright, which was an incredible result given the circumstances.

Endurance racing is bloody awesome. It really is the ultimate team sport. There’s so much happening behind the scenes in the pits to give the drivers the best possible chance, from strategy calls to pit stops and problem solving under pressure.

Such an eye opening experience and one I’m grateful to have been a small part of.

The new SME CNC baffled sump that holds an extra 1.7L mor oil capacity than the factory sump.

It’s designed to fully fix any oil surge problems that the new FA24 BRZ/GR86 have had on the race track.

It looks amazing and internally even more so. Paired with the SME 4-2-1 header and a tune from us it’s an awesome upgrade.
