A gallery can sell art. But what happens when it becomes a place where people learn, connect, and grow together? 🎨

For Alicia Puig, CEO, Curator & Co-founder of PxP Contemporary, community has been part of the gallery from the very beginning.

When she launched PxP in 2019, she saw a gap: emerging artists struggled to find gallery partners, while new collectors were often told that $10,000 was an “accessible” price point.

So she built a gallery around a different idea: making art more accessible while giving artists the resources to build sustainable careers.

That community has grown far beyond the artwork itself. Artists from different states and countries have met online and at PxP events, building relationships and networks of their own. Questions from artists even inspired Alicia and co-author Ekaterina Popova to write two books about building a career in the art world.

Instagram has also helped keep those connections moving. Through Reels, PxP can share the details and processes behind the work. Stories help people discover upcoming events. And in the comments, Alicia gets to see people connect with an artist’s technique, respond to a piece, or even share when they’ll be attending the next event.

For Alicia, community isn’t measured only by how much an audience grows. It’s also by how deeply people believe in what you’re building.

Do you like abstract minimalism 🧑‍🎨

I’m known for detail, but sometimes I lean into minimalism — like this infinity collection. Letting go of control is one of my greatest challenges, and sometimes our greatest challenges are our greatest opportunities for growth 💙

In art school I studied Asian scroll painting and calligraphy. I deeply respected those masters who could capture an entire story in just a few brushstrokes 🖌️

This piece is available at @pxpcontemporary — link in bio for this one and more 🖼️

PIYA SAMANT

ALLURE
2026
Oil on canvas 48 × 36 inches
Available for purchase

In Allure, Samant explores self-portraiture through the body rather than the face. Seen from behind, the figure becomes a study in gesture, adornment, and the sensuality of the uncovered body. Gold accents emerge against emerald green, drawing on South Asian visual traditions while creating a tension between revelation and concealment. The turned figure invites the gaze while maintaining a sense of mystery, suggesting that what remains unseen can be as powerful as what is revealed.

We are pleased to introduce a new collection of paintings by @pierceandpaint on Artsy! 🖼️

My art practice is a rhythmic cycle: I paint to travel, and I travel to paint. I am a full-time landscape painter and a recovering interior designer. After a fifteen-year career managing and planning corporate hospitality projects, I happily escaped the corporate world in 2020 to focus on the intimate scale of a brushstroke.

Traveling intentionally allows me to step away from everyday distractions, clearing the mental space needed to focus on the vital role of play within a studio practice. Immersive artist residencies in the past have directly led to major growth in my practice, pushing me to experiment with new techniques, embrace vulnerability, and uncover deeper narratives within the landscape.

My work is rooted in deep outdoor observation and the vital importance of play within a studio practice. Whether I am up before dawn chasing a unique horizon line, working out of a lightweight watercolor journal on a remote trail, or translating those quick studies into large oil paintings back in my studio, I strive to capture the true essence of a moment. By letting go of perfectionism, my practice focuses entirely on uncovering deeper narratives within the land, sharing those stories to reconnect others to the wild spaces that recharge us. My studio practice is centered around connection. Oil painting is my first love, but you’ll find me painting with acrylic in Plein air or my watercolor journal for a quick sketch to capture a fleeting moment. My paintings are inspired by this world’s natural beauty that a camera simply can’t capture. by @pxpcontemporary
