POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Matthew 27:65
Pilate said to them, “You have a guard of soldiers. Go, make it as secure as you can.”

Even at our best and with our most we cannot corral God and “as secure as you can” is not secure enough.

We roll large stones of self-righteousness and sinful rebellion in front of the graves where we tuck God away.

Our securities are shattered, however, by a slain Son rising from the dead.

Self-assured is unsecure and “as secure as you can” quite simply CAN’T.

Matthew 28:11-15
While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day. by @pxstmillitant

“Cultures are built by men with families to feed.” — Douglas Wilson, 2020 Vision/The Year Many Christians Begin to See Clearly

The Creator made men creative. When this ingenuity is employed for the purposes of providing for those over whom the Creator has made the man responsible, it results in full bellies, warm hearts, excellence in achievement, and artistry in endeavor.

Cultures are carried along by stories and songs. Songs and stories then are not merely sold for profit, but told by prophets. They capture what was, what is, and the promise of what could be.

The more a man desires to tend to his household, the better the stories and songs will resonate with those under his roof and other households outside his own; and as a result, community and culture flourish. by @pxstmillitant

“I never discuss anything else except politics and religion. There is nothing else to discuss.” ― G.K. Chesterton

There is something to be said for setting aside your differences for the sake of promoting civility at a large group gathering, but what can’t be said is that what is left unsaid is of no consequence. The long and short of getting along for a short time with those you disagree with is setting aside what’s most important to you outside of that gathering in order to make the gathering the most important thing to you at the moment. In other words, not saying anything about which you care about most is just another way of saying that what you care about most isn’t what you care about most at this moment. Which is just another way of saying nothing.

As Chesterton points out, you cannot discuss things that aren’t worth discussing. You can make inoffensive comments about inoffensive topics, but you cant, strictly speaking, discuss anything. To discuss something is to break it down and shake it out. The word discuss literally means dis (apart) + cutere (to shake). You break something down in order to examine its pieces. You reverse engineer something in order to better understand it as a whole. This is something you cannot do without ruffling a few feathers. You cannot shake things out without shaking things up. You cannot keep the peace if you break things into pieces.

Our Lord’s example is shaking things up in order to reveal what cannot be shaken. He breaks things into pieces in order to show what cannot be broken. His Word cannot be broken and His Kingdom cannot be shaken.

Hebrews 12:28
Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let’s show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe.

“When the government knows everything about you, that’s tyranny, when you know everything about your government, that’s democracy.” — Cristian Terhes

Governments are defined by who is held to be transparent. The difference presupposes who owes whom an explanation and who is most likely to be hiding something.

A government which refuses to be questioned and insists on all the answers cannot and should not be trusted. Limited government is a Christian invention and when employed by grace through faith, it safeguards those in control from becoming tyrants and those under control from becoming tinder.

Where the people are given access to all the information, the representatives work for the citizens.; where the government is given access to all the information, the citizens become slaves of the State. Representative government is based on covenanted agreements. Federal comes from the Latin for foedus which means covenant, pact, or treaty. Federal governance is an arrangement of promises in which each party agrees to do something on behalf of the other. The representative agrees to act on behalf of the people at the mercy of the people as their elected head. The people agree to vest decision-making authority into the person they send to represent them. If the representative breaks faith with those they represent, the people are free to break out from under their headship. This is the premise behind the American War for Independence. The colonies grievance was that King George was not protecting them per their agreement. The consent of the governed was being abused by the absence of the governor in matters related to their safety, security, and prosperity. Thus, the colonists, confirming their heads abdication, set forth to elect new heads that would represent them faithfully. by @pxstmillitant

“You can never have a revolution in order to establish a democracy. You must have a democracy in order to have a revolution.” – G.K. Chesterton, The Wind and the Trees from Tremendous Trifles

You cannot have mob rule without majority rule. You cannot have a revolution without mass rebellion. The voice of the people is not the voice of God. There is nothing inherently binding about the majority opinion. The minority may suffer at the hands of the majority for not being on board with the popular opinion, but that is merely might making right. That does not make might good or true or beautiful. In order to have that, there must be a standard that reigns over the majority and the minority. There can be more or less popular ways to try to achieve an agreed upon standard, but without a standard that rules over them both, you will have have mob where you have a majority.

“I am a [proponent of democracy] because I believe in the Fall of Man. I think most people are democrats for the opposite reason. A great deal of democratic enthusiasm descends from the ideas of people like Rousseau, who believed in democracy because they thought mankind so wise and good that every one deserved a share in the government. The danger of defending democracy on those grounds is that they’re not true
I find that they’re not true without looking further than myself. I don’t deserve a share in governing a hen-roost. Much less a nation. . . . The real reason for democracy is just the reverse. Mankind is so fallen that no man can be trusted with unchecked power over his fellows.” — C.S. Lewis, Present Concerns

Democracy does not keep the mob in check, but it does keep one maniac from being without checks and balances. The doctrine of total depravity serves as a standard to govern those in the majority and those in the minority. It governs those who have the votes and those who don’t. Democracy, while still less than ideal, when governed by that understanding, can make a go of it as it has in the United States for the last 250 years. by @pxstmillitant

“There is no such entity as the Judeo/Christian religion. As religions go, there is no way to combine the view that Jesus is the Christ with the idea that He was a fraud, or the claim that He rose from the dead with the counterclaim that He did nothing of the kind, or the idea that the New Testament correctly interprets the Old with the view that it is the Talmud that actually does. So as religions, they do not harmonize at the most basic level.” — Douglas Wilson, Mere Christendom

The Synagogue of Satan is not a Christian denomination, it is a Christian heresy. It is derivative. It is predicated upon a denial of Jesus as the Christ of God. As such, and at its most basic level, it is opposed to the Christian faith. The foundations of each are exclusive. They are not building on the same thing. The law and the prophets are not something they share. If Moses pointed to Jesus, and he did quite often implicitly and explicitly, then he cannot also NOT point to Jesus at all. If Isaiah saw Jesus enthroned, and he did, he cannot also be made to say that Jesus is not on the throne.

Judeo-Christian is the modern equivalent of Tashlan. It is handmade religion. And note that it is only ever an evil entity that attempts to masquerade as the righteous one. Satan pretends to be an angel of light, but Michael never wants to look like a dark lord. Evil parrots good, but good does not speak a word of evil. The real Aslan would never pretend to be a compromise and when he shows up, one of the first thing he does, even if only by his appearing, is destroy the myth of neutrality. The new earth will not have any coexist bumper stickers.

Judeo-Christian is an oxymoron. You cannot say Christ was a fraud and Christ was legit at the same time in the same way. You cannot say He rose from the dead and that He didn’t. He is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all. You cannot split the difference. You cannot be kinda the King anymore than you can be kinda pregnant. You either are or you aren’t.

Judeo-Christian is a farrago. by @pxstmillitant

“’After bread, the need of the people is knowledge,’ said Danton. Knowledge is now a monopoly, and comes through to the citizens in thin and selected streams, exactly as bread might come through to a besieged city. Men must wish to know what is happening, whoever has the privilege of telling them. They must listen to the messenger, even if he is a liar.” — G.K. Chesterton, Utopia of Usurers

The legacy Media is a knowledge cartel. It makes the news and pushes it on others. It attempts to knock off anyone else attempting to work the same block. It controls the means of production and distribution. It is a manufacturer of news, not a reporter of it. It wants you caught up in the power of their current events. That stream is a lazy river that flows steadily and begs its Tubers to take it easy and enjoy the ride.

But what are people to do? As Chesterton points out, people need information. They need to know what’s going on. The people are the hands and feet who need the eyes to see on their behalf. But what is the heart supposed to do when the eyes lie? It cannot help but beat faster. If we cannot trust our eyes, we cannot see. We can rely on other senses in hopes of getting a read on what’s out there, but we’ll have to adapt as a blind man. We can put our ears to the ground or smell for something fishy, but we cannot see.

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision,
the people cast off restraint.

When people can’t see they grope or go bonkers, but either way they grab on to whatever they can get their hands on and let go of whatever they used to know.

So, is all hope then lost? Certainly not.

“Babies are the best revenge against the Nazis.” — Lily Ebert, Holocaust survivor

Fertility is shots fired. The meek shall inherit the earth by surviving the schemes of the sterile. The fruitless will set their nets and the fruitful will escape them and take their revenge by populating the world that the fruitless longed to take by force. The fruitless want the world to themselves, but they will neither get the world they want nor take it from those to whom God wants to give it.

Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

The meek do not fight sterility with sterility, but with fecundity and virility. The best antidote for barrenness is fullness and when grumbling lobs its bombs, it is best to fire back with gratitude.

Romans 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

What could be better than a baby? We don’t overcome the evil of eugenics by foregoing our fruitfulness in order to fight them. Fruitfulness is how we fight them. Our cheerful reproduction demolishes their strongholds and takes every one of their impotent doctrines captive for Christ. Our happy homemaking and culture building begins with making babies. But it doesn’t end there. And they know it. They know a woman’s womb is a weapon and that the future cannot be kept from those who happily hope in it enough to fight by faith and fertility for it this day.

Genesis 24:60
And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, “Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.”

Amen! May our wives be the mothers of millions and our daughters of thousands of millions. Let them flood the earth with faithful dominion and prevail against the gates of Hell.

Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Babies are the best revenge. No one can make one without God. When you place your faith in God by hospitably welcoming more children into your midst, you make room for God to fight on your behalf. God gets His vengeance on the peddlers of family planning by filling the homes of His people w by @pxstmillitant

“The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe because its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.” ~ Turkish proverb

An axe may win over the forest by appealing to what they have in common while laying waste to the forest with what they don’t. Do not let shared interests blind you to the ulterior motives for sharing them. The axe leverages its shared values against the trees. Its handle is what gives it power to fell the forest. It provides the sway and the swing.

2 Corinthians 11:13–14
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Satan puts on a costume of light in order to conceal his darkness in the company of the lit. He cuts down the orchard by first brandishing bark.

2 Corinthians 2:11
Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

This should not require any of us to haul out our shocked faces. We know he is doing this. It is his modus operandi. The only way this works is if we aren’t paying attention or are incentivized to look the other way because of darkness we are already giving quarter to within. by @pxstmillitant

“Injustice is relatively easy to bear; what stings is justice.” ― H.L. Mencken

Justice packs more punch than injustice. Injustice lacks the wallop of divinity. As hard as it can hit, it can never smack as hard as sovereignty. Because injustice is only perpetrated by those down the depth chart, it cannot attack like One with the high ground. Nothing comes down with more ferocity than the One with the furthest to come down.

While everyone thinks that they want justice, only the justified will be able to endure it. Justice will, in the end, turn out to be more devastating than any injustice ever was in the meantime. by @pxstmillitant

Psalm 9:3-4
When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before your presence. For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.

Our enemies do not run away because they’re scared of us, they run away because they see our Father looming behind us. Consider James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” When you resist the devil, he doesn’t flee because you stood your ground, he flees because we called for our Dad. Calling upon the Father is how you resist the devil. Submitting to Him is how you conquer the world, the flesh, and the devil. When you call upon the Lord, the demons do not stick around for Him to show up. Sin cannot stand in the presence of God. It struts around and talks a big game, but the second you call upon Christ, it falls on its face before it cowers away.

Listen to the word of the Lord from Leviticus 26 “If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, then you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword
But if you will not listen to me, I will send faintness into your hearts. The sound of a driven leaf shall put you to flight, and you shall flee as one flees from the sword, and you shall fall when none pursues. You shall stumble over one another, and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.”

Our enemies are not scared of us, but they are scared of what’s behind us. If we get arrogant and imagine ourselves as vigilante enforcers of the good, the true, and the beautiful, we will be beaten back by the bad, the false, and the ugly. We are not Batman. We are just kids in Batman costumes. The reason our enemies flee before us is because when we put on Christ, they see the signal in the air and they know who’s coming to help. As John Knox once observed, “A man with God is always in the majority.” The only reason any one of us can take out twenty of them is because of the One who has our back. by @pxstmillitant
