Today our lovely driver Riyan took us out to Codium restaurant at one of Kuta’s beautiful beaches. What an absolute treat of a day, with Kalani and Ronin! Wished everyone could be here. On the way home we called in to the bat caves to see and ‘experience’ several million micro bats. It sure was um, an experience! by @pykejenny

This morning we were driven 2 1/2 hours south to Kuta Lombok where it is hotter and drier but still with many crops and orchards. Mel and Ricky have a day on motorbikes tomorrow so Phil, Kalani, Ronin and I will go to one of the beautiful beaches here.
Dinner downtown tonight at Parwon Nusantara was so delicious and that’s saying something. by @pykejenny

A change of scene. From enchanting Gili Air where we farewelled Ro and family, to the lower slopes of Mt Rinjani (3700m) on Lombok proper. This morning a trip to see the rare Black Forest monkeys, rice terraces, home-made coffee, and a short trek to a waterfall and pool followed by a delicious rural lunch. taken in Tete Batu, Lombok Timur by @pykejenny
