All done in Queens! HUGE thanks to the Astoria Wood Workers for having me back after 10 YEARS! See the last slide for the first mural I painted at this location in 2016! 🤯 I can’t believe it ran that long. Here’s to another 10! I’ll be back in 2036. 😂 This was a fun one! And thank you to the whole neighborhood! Everyone was so kind. So many people giving me compliments and bringing me things like water, bug spray, beers, and ladders! Welling Court is a great place. To leave your mark ✍️ is a universal human need — telling the world, during this orbit of the sun: “I was here.”

For me, my most profound mark has been Plaza Walls. I’ve called it home for 10 years, raising a kid around a remarkable creative community, with a foundation built on acceptance, love, and encouragement. Through coming together, we’ve created a legacy, which will endure due to the strength of what it’s built upon. The Plaza District will thrive as long as the Lighthouse of Murals keeps its flame burning bright, guiding tourists and artists like ships finding their way through the night. Having fanned these flames for a decade now, I reflect on the friendships forged that have shaped careers, deepened lives, and created bonds that will burn forever.

I live with a full heart, knowing this flame will endure far beyond what I can breathe into it. We have built an extraordinary team that will continue to grow, serving as dedicated stewards to pass it on to the next caretakers.

To all the artists who have blessed our walls, I cannot thank you enough. And to the tireless work of our volunteers fanning the flames alive—you deserve all the credit: @circlogic @sniktsnikt @ah_rahz @virginiasitzes @kaliloveart @dzamarippa @crontastic @kassiielove @toddeclark @la_vagablonde @xxartishardxx @okiesongbird @okiedust @casey_croft @1.800.ifizzy 💐❤️

To the one who helped me spark this flame, 🔥 @MrDylanB🔥I love you, brother. Together we kindled a forest fire by accident, burning away the old underbrush and clearing the ground for new seeds to take root and grow. 🌱

And to @plazawalls, I wish you an infinity of orbits around the sun. 🌞 🎉🥰🫶

In early 2017, I began exploring this style after a Matisse-inspired exercise using cut paper to build landscapes and abstract shapes. At the time, I was craving something new. Graffiti lettering was still my comfort zone, but I wanted to see where experimentation could take me. At a live painting event, I took a chance and painted something completely different than what people expected. The response that day changed everything. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come from taking a risk. Don’t be afraid to try something new—you never know where it might lead. 🪄✨ by @pyramidguy
