Freshman year done!! I’ve made so many amazing memories with all the people here and can’t wait for August to come back. Goodbyes were said and goodbyes are hard but they also mean change. I can’t wait to get back to the gym and see the people I call friends and teammates. Here’s to 1/4 ❤️

Pawpaw, it’s your second birthday without you here and somehow this one is harder than the last. I would give anything to spend just 5 more minutes with you watching a Blues or a Cards game. I wish you could see the big things I’m doing now in the sports world, I know you’d be proud of me. I’m getting your name tattooed on my arm soon. OGT, still coming to terms with the news of losing you right before the new year. It finally all hit me tonight after getting pictures of your jewelry and being asked which pieces I wanted. I found out so much about you through just your ornaments, like that you WERE A CLOWN?? I feel like that coulda slipped in somewhere over the last 18 years but I digress… I am only now realizing I never took pictures with you. You were the matriarch. For a long time the rock. I remember being at your house on Snowbird and cooking with you, and your apartment playing sequence. I remember playing hangman and teaching you sudoku, though you never could get the hang of it. I remember the first thanksgiving 4 years ago when you sat next to me the whole night and when we got ready to leave you ask “and who are you again?” And being torn apart from the inside out. Seeing you this Christmas Eve and seeing you lucid gave me hope that maybe you would be ok. I hate the stupid disease you had, and then they threw cancer right on top of it. I remember talking to mom on your birthday this year (which you hated was on September 11th because “all those people died on MY birthday”) and she asked you how you felt being 96 and you said “just 4 more” and we laughed about how you probably would make it to 100 through sheer will and spite. I know in my heart that you are back with Sylvia and Grandpa Joe (“he would have just loved you kids 😀” [he would not]) and all of your other friends who went before you. I remember the lunches with grandma and all your friends. I remember us all calling you OGT (Old Grandma Theresa) and you never really knew what it stood for, mostly because you couldn’t hear. I know this time next year will be hard, but I know you will be watching over me with Pawpaw Mike, and that y’all are probably driving each other insane up there. I love you with all my heart and soul, fly high OGT. I miss you already ❤️🕊️🪽 by @pyroweiss2021
