Proud to announce I’ve been made a sports and business law partner… a decade after nearly facing homelessness.

A lot of people probably don’t know about my journey and why Pythagoras In Boots is more than a fun hobby for me - it played a crucial role, along with the woman who would be my wife in keeping me mentally stable during the toughest years of my life.

I don’t want to get too into it but without a healthy family environment it can be very easy to be dragged down and lose your sense of purpose, quite frankly I did and didn’t know what to do.

Coaching, law everything was collapsing around me as I didn’t have a stable life at home - it’s why parenting is so important to me now - I want to give my kids what I never had.

Bit by bit, writing articles and talking about football, kept my mind occupied and got me through it - managed to get a training contract which allowed me to get an apartment and then I tried to not look back.

There’s been many ups and downs, balancing work with my passion, whilst also wanting the family life I never had in a vicious corporate environment with people who can’t relate to humble upbringings is never easy but anyway it was ultimately worth it.

I’m now in a position where I can work when I want for who I want, financially it’s probably not as stable as a salaried position but mentally I feel better and it gives me more flexibility to get back into coaching for example and grow the football agency and media career.

Anyway long story but I hope that gives an insight as to my journey but also serves as inspiration that you have to find a way to fight despite your current circumstances, hang onto something you love - let it give you purpose and a reason to live and better your situation. Don’t let other people’s shit define your life.

Debating Jamie Carragher Was SURREAL…

We got into a proper discussion on the toughest position in football @23_carra made the case for centre-backs, I saw it differently.

Grew up watching him, so sharing a table and talking the game at that level was something I genuinely enjoyed.

For me, he’s still the best pundit in the game - clear, honest, and understands the detail.

Full debate is now live on YouTube via the @zacdjellab channel 🎙️

They say never meet your heroes… but I met mine.

Growing up a United fan, Wayne Rooney was one of my biggest inspirations… and meeting him lived up to everything I hoped for. Such a genuine, down-to-earth guy.

The one question I had to ask… What was the best version of Wayne Rooney?

His answer… Euro 2004 Rooney.
He said he felt fearless, like he could take on the world. Playing in his favourite position, enjoying his football the most… before injuries meant he had to adapt, become more prolific and effective, but not quite the same version of himself.

A milestone moment in my journey… grateful to have had the chance to speak with him… and hopefully one day, to work with him too.

Red Card or Prison? ⚖️

Could a football challenge lead to criminal manslaughter? We analyse the incident involving Jesús de Miguel and Jesús Owono, examining the application of Spanish criminal law and whether the challenge could result in criminal liability.

Where does a reckless tackle stop being a football incident and become a criminal offence?

Arsenal have just succumbed around £400m of Liverpool attacking talent to no shots on target at Anfield from the home team… The aura of that Arsenal backline has just peaked to a new height and that’s without arguably the best CB in world football.
