Meet our final judge for Off the Clock! 🎨

Ricardo Gutiérrez (@ricartdesign) is a Colombian visual artist based in New Haven whose creative journey began at age four in Apartadó, Antioquia, inspired by his father’s painting. With a background in graphic design, advertising, and visual design, Ricardo blends design and contemporary painting to explore identity, humanity, nature, and cultural heritage.

His painting King Lanson (William Lanson) is part of the New Haven Museum’s permanent collection, and he was named one of Connecticut Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 Most Influential People in 2023.

That completes our judges’ table! Ricardo joins Marlo Marrero Fernandez, Vania Slight, and Sean “CW” Davis to crown Connecticut’s top young professional talent.

Meet the judges, part three: CW Davis 🎤

You might know him as the “Poppa Bear of Comedy.” CW grew up in Bloomfield and graduated from Gibbs College with honors in 3D graphic communications and visual design. He’s also an alum of the Disney College Program. Since then he’s worked across stand-up, voice-over, and the stage.

He voices a lead in the cartoon “The Gentlemen” from MJS Comics. As a company member with Act Up Theater, he’s played Mufasa in The Lion King, Curtis Taylor Jr. in Dreamgirls, and Rudolpho in Matilda. He also played the villain in the Hartford short film “Beige,” and he’s performed in Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and all over Connecticut.

Now he’s bringing that stage experience to the judges’ table at Off the Clock: A Young Professional Talent Show.

📅 November 6th, 5-9PM
📍 The Rockwell Theater, 70 Memorial Blvd, Bristol, CT

Meet the Judges: Part Two 🎨

For Marlo Marrero Fernandez, art isn’t just something she makes. It’s how she experiences and connects with the world.

Making it, viewing it, or building it alongside others, her whole journey comes back to a lifelong love of the creative process. When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find her thriving in Bristol’s local art scene and leading Creative Bristol, the nonprofit artist collective she serves as President.

Her daily mission? To democratize art, direct public projects, and make creative experiences accessible to everyone. 🖌️

We can’t wait to see the talent she spots from the judges’ table.

Congrats to H.O.P.E. Partners of Farmington for raising 377% more through the Travelers Championship tournament this year! 🎉

For over 60 years, H.O.P.E. (formerly Services for the Elderly of Farmington) has helped seniors and neighbors with disabilities stay independent and connected at home through Meals on Wheels, medical transportation, a medical equipment closet, and more. Every dollar raised keeps those services rolling.

We’re especially proud that PYVOT member Steven Caruso joined their Board of Directors after connecting with the organization at our PYVOT Board Night. This is exactly why we host these events. Young professionals want to give back, and local nonprofits need them at the table.

Interested in serving on a nonprofit board? Stay tuned for our next PYVOT Board Night. taken in Farmington, Connecticut by @pyvotcentralct
