What a great reading last night! Thank you @poetatico for welcoming me into the space and allowing my art to shine. ✨

And remember—when your ex DL lover sends you to buy tortillas at Superior, don’t come back with Guerrero. Because then they’ll leave you for a woman… OOPS. 😬🌽 by @qdapoet

“When the Mastodon Calls” looks to the past, not out of nostalgia, but out of necessity. History continues to call to us. The question is whether we are willing to listen before we keep repeating it. Thank you @chirla_org for recording this moment. ❤️ by @qdapoet

My poem Enséñame a Bailar is now featured in the June issue of Culture LA Magazine, celebrating PRIDE. ❤️

You can read the magazine here: https://culture.lacity.gov/programs-and-initiatives/la-hm

When I first wrote this poem, I was sitting at a laundromat washing oversized pillows, quietly and hysterically crying over love. How many of us have been there?

A version of this poem also lives in my book, Dreamer Paradise. ❤️

Thank you @culture_la for continuing to uplift and provide visibility to this dreamer poet. by @qdapoet

As a DACA recipient, I cannot vote. But I can pay attention to the people who seek to shape my city.

When I came across Candidate Rae Huang’s campaign, I connected with her honesty, courage, and belief that no one should be left behind. As someone whose life is directly impacted by the decisions made in Los Angeles, that message mattered.

These poems were written from that place. They honor community, resilience, and the people who continue showing up for one another. Los Angeles belongs to all of us—including immigrants, undocumented people, and those who may never receive a ballot but still call this city home.

Thank you, Candidate Rae Huang, for inspiring the conversation.

For those who can vote, cast your ballot with your values. Do it without fear or strategy. Vote with your undocumented neighbors in mind. Los Angeles needs a fearless leader. Vote Rae Huang for LA Mayor today.

Collaboration means everything for Dreamers. It is foundational. At the core of collaboration is access and opportunity—something Dreamers will always be grateful for. It is about occupying space and having the ability to tell our stories, because for so long, Dreamers have been kept silent, pushed into the shadows.

Dreamer Paradise, released in 2024, still feels incredibly fresh—still painfully on brand, given the climate we’re living in.

At its best, collaboration is access. Thank you @bblitarts @lulubell.96 @letraslatinasblog2 for allowing Dreamers to occupy poetic spaces, to be seen, and to be heard. Thank you @alan_chazaro and @josefobear for the invitation.

More importantly, PLEASE GET A COPY OF These Spaceships Weren’t Built for Us.
