Some connections begin at Education City and stay with us, no matter where life takes us.

In Dubai, Francisco Marmolejo, President of Higher Education at Qatar Foundation, came together with QF alumni for an evening of shared stories, familiar memories, and meaningful conversations.

It was a chance to hear how their journeys have unfolded since Education City, to reconnect over the experiences that shaped them, and to celebrate a community that continues to find its way back to one another across cities and borders.

To our alumni in Dubai, thank you for an evening that reminded us: Education City is more than a place you pass through. It is a community you carry with you.

Book of the Month: From the Memory of the Soul

Noora Ali Al-Shukri, a Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar graduate from the Class of 2020, shares the journey behind her book, From the Memory of the Soul. The book began as a collection of texts she wrote for herself before she discovered the common thread connecting them: the human journey with oneself, the soul, and its emotions.

The book explores feelings of loneliness and disappointment, inner conflict, and the human search for identity, ultimately leading towards inner peace. It also reflects Noora’s journey from expressing herself through art and color to expressing herself through words and writing.

A reflective read for anyone seeking to better understand themselves and their emotions, and to discover how reading helps us understand the world around us, while writing helps us understand the world within us. by @qfalumni
