very old picture but i cant wait to feel what i felt seeing fuji for the first time in this light, at this exact 7-11. the clouds just started clearing up, it was completely covered when i arrived a few hours before. i had zero navigation, i like living dangerously like that (i have good sense of direction and can speak enough japanese), just vibing my way through the neighbourhood.

hi yin, here’s what i really would’ve said on the video -

remember when we were in form 1 and fighting for whatever reason? and then remember the days where all we did was lie around the surau and read books we’ve exchanged? remember our post hunger games reading binge and our desperation to find a series as great as that?

i dont remember a lot from high school but a lot of the good moments i have were with you. from the post gotong royong sunday hangouts dancing…. i dont wanna say what :p to laughing by each other’s lockers cause we were gonna leave the dorm with different friends. even to little bickers we have. you’ve always just got me.

when we graduated and went down our own paths, i’ve always missed you. and when uni started everything became a blur, but suddenly i found myself laughing with you from my empty bedroom in edinburgh, for hours, imagining scenarios for… you know who… hahahaha… them in mrsm settings? why were we like that honestly hahaha but i love it. it makes us us

fast forward and im suddenly sitting with you in my humble abode where i rented alone. i found myself cooking for you and not wanting you to leave. we’d share worries and laughters and we’d do it over and over and over until we’d have to force ourselves apart from one another. thank god i held your pochacco hostage that day.

now here we are, after some fights even as adults (which i appreciate because we care about learning of one another through different seasons), i’m standing here witnessing you getting married to the love of your life. the person who has been there for you through THIIICK and thin. the person i’m glad was there for you when i wasn’t part of your chapter. i’m so happy to have witnessed this union and i’m so honoured you invited me to be part of it.

i was so busy on duty that day that i wasn’t able to process you’re married. i remember telling ika that we’ll still meet at your parents’ house, we can have another sleepover and go to bed really late this time. cause that day we gotta wake up early for your wedding right, so we gotta payback!

then it hit me.

the older i get, the more terrified of teenagers i become. funny because i used to think i knew everything at that age.

now im 28 and realising life has just started, and it will come with a lot of shock and bucketloads of grief; but worry not for you still have love around you and people who will hold you and accept you through seasons you barely feel like yourself.

always treat life as a mirror. whatever or whoever that makes you feel any type of way, good or bad, reflects who you are inside. it’s okay to admit we grew up with certain patterns, be open to change if change means carrying a lighter heart for the rest of your life. always seek perspective, find people who challenge your beliefs. free your soul from anything constricting.

believe in the power of time. you will go through hard things and have truths your mind simply cannot buy in the moment. hold on to them and dont force anything, time will do its magic. minute by minute, day by day, and on a random sunny day, you will realise you can enjoy the light. you will realise you have made peace.

look what i’ve been patiently compiling the past four months!!!!

these are album covers i really like!! pls swipe and you’ll find their names. everytime i come across a cover i find slightly appealing i’d be so tempted to add it to my collage but i practiced PATIENCE and did not give in to said temptation. the jury (my taste and vibe) has no criteria they judge by but they MUST be disarmingly captivating to make the list.

i was trying to choose a fave and its a strong tie between metamodernity and revolver 💭
