It is with a heavy heart that we announce Queen of the South will no longer be trading. We were unable to raise the funds needed to buy the pub freehold, and the business hasn’t performed at the levels required in the face of rising business rates, utilities and staff costs. It’s been an incredibly challenging three-plus years. We are extremely proud that we were able to take a building which had lain abandoned for almost a decade—an eyesore on the Tulse Hill landscape—and create a beautiful, much-needed pub for a community that hasn’t had the spotlight it deserves. We had some laughs and some great times. We want to thank everybody who contributed to the pub in one way or another. We don’t just build pubs; we build communities. The Village People. by @qotspub
💥A TIME WAS HAD!💥 To every single Queen who stepped out to celebrate our FOURTH BIRTHDAY — thank you! Truly. Without you, WAP simply wouldn’t be here. You are the heartbeat of this community. To our incredible WAP team — @shakeirac @_adraaa @iam_sheila.k — seriously, what would we do without you?! Thank you for holding us down in every way. 🩷@felicia_olutease, our hostess with the absolute mostest — thank you for keeping the vibes high, for getting us in our feels, for your beautiful words, and for speaking so much life into all of us. We adore you. 🤎@monettetheartist @affirm.arts , our darling — thank you for sharing your radiant joy and your stunning artwork. Your workshop was pure magic. Restoring self-love and self-worth is no small thing, and we’re still chanting those affirmations in the mirror like you taught us! 🩷@dj.sweettee — GIRL. The original vibe setter! You already know our batties scrubbed the ground respectfully. In true WAP fashion, we danced our evening away until they told us it was time to go. 🤎@blingedsmile — thank you, my love, for giving us the gems that made our smiles shine even brighter. We were sparkling! 🩷And of course, a huge hug and thank you to @herspiremedia and their amazing team for capturing some of the most heartfelt, beautiful, and candid interviews ever! 🤎A huge thank you to Queen of the South @qotspub for hosting such a beautiful celebration. We appreciate you more than you know. 🩷And of course, this iconic day would not have been captured so perfectly without @goldinsightstudios doing what she does best behind the lens. We are so grateful. Stay tuned, Queens — we’ve got something special coming, so we hope you’ve got your flyest outfits ready! Want to be the first to know?
