WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THIS SOUNDCHECK WAS 15 YEARS IN THE MAKING?

WOULD YOU BELIEVE ME?

CURATOR: @qthaelevatedgemini

MC / FRIEND / 1/2 OF @the.real.mc2

PLAYLIST: RELÄX YŪR MIN̈D

ME AND Q GO WAY BACK.

BACK TO THE DAYS OF WORKING RETAIL TOGETHER.

DURING CLOSING SHIFTS, WE'D HAVE THE STORE BUMPING.

LITTLE BROTHER.

MOS DEF.

PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS.

THE PHARCYDE.

SOULS OF MISCHIEF.

AND Q WAS THE ONE PUTTING ME ON TO LUPE.

THOSE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT MUSIC EVENTUALLY TURNED INTO CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LIFE.

ABOUT PURPOSE.

ABOUT BUILDING SOMETHING THAT MATTERS.

FAST FORWARD 15 YEARS...

WE BOTH BUILT MOVEMENTS ROOTED IN COMMUNITY.

FRONT STEPS.

@elevatedpeople

AND SOMEHOW, WE ENDED UP RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED...

SHARING STORIES THROUGH MUSIC.

THAT'S A BLESSING I DON'T TAKE FOR GRANTED.

I'M SAD TO KNOW Q'S FINAL SHOW IS COMING UP IN KANSAS CITY BEFORE HE MOVES TO ASIA TO FOCUS ON WRITING HIS BOOK.

BUT I'M EVEN HAPPIER TO SEE MY BROTHER CHASING A DREAM MOST PEOPLE ONLY TALK ABOUT.

LOVE YOU, MY DUDE.

KEEP ELEVATING.

NOMINEE: @ripkalamari

YOU'RE UP NEXT.

THE NEXT TIME I'M IN SAN ANTONIO, IT'LL FEEL A LITTLE DIFFERENT WITHOUT Q AROUND.

BUT I ALREADY KNOW...

HE'LL BE SPREADING LOVE, BUILDING COMMUNITY, AND DOING WHAT HE'S ALWAYS DONE.

EVERY STEP TELLS A STORY.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

WHO'S SOMEONE THAT'S BEEN IN YOUR CORNER FOR 15 YEARS OR MORE? GIVE THEM THEIR FLOWERS.

“indigo.”
.
color of the crown chakra.
color of the the all knowing.
color of those spirits who see,
& see through…
.
indigo-chyle is that you?
true color of your skin,
deep knowing, deeper hues.

we struggle w/what society defines
as the proper masculine energy.
gender roles separate us,
expectations separate us,
traditions that are rooted in unstable
systems of “relationship” separate us.
.
pink is soft and understanding.
gold is powerful and protective.
yet, no one told us the truth as men…
no one said that we have the capacity for both.
.
pink & gold are mirrors.
when you see yourself in the pinks,
the golds reveal themselves in you.
.
the perfect blend exists
so long as you do.

yellow.
.
feat. @the34k
vocal backing: @sta.o_
filmed by: @man_knee865
mixed/master: @furlow_music
prod. Qué Sol
written by: moi

.
yellow is a song about warmth after survival.
about encountering someone whose
presence feels like sunlight
—not blinding, not burning, but steady.
.
not trying to win love,
but rather, honoring it.
yellow means new.
